My husand and I just returned from Cuba and have to say of all the hotels we stopped by, this one was by far the nicest, cleanest, and had the best value and location. The rooms are nothing spectacular, but are kept very clean. The staff can't be beat and were extremely helpful suggesting good eats and spots of the beaten path for sightseeing. A big help! Nice hotel and very good location! Deserves the #1 rating!

Oh yeah, if you're planning more than a couple nights here, make sure to bring your swimsuit. There is a fantastic rooftop pool with a GREAT view!

This is a really good hotel. This was our 2nd visit to Havana and we chose the Parque Centrale because we stayed here on our first visit and could see no reason to stay anywhere else this time.
The check-in staff are friendly and efficient - like all of the staff here. The rooms are spacious and kept very clean and the lobby bar is an oasis of calm in the hustle and bustle of Havana.
Breakfast is very good indeed - the variety and quality of the food and drink on offer is enough to satisfy even the most picky of eaters.
Snacks in the lobby bar or roof bar are tasty and good value.
The CADECA (currency exchange) means that local currency can be obtained without the hassle of queues, passports etc at banks, and the difference in exchange rates between CADECA and bank is only a fraction of a cent. So no need to worry if you can't change money at the airport.
The rooftop pool is very nice, with great views over Havana.
The location of this hotel makes it a great base for sightseeing - Cathedral Square etc are only a few minutes walk away, as are some very good value restaurants.
The whole place is elegant and calm and I heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a first class hotel to stay in while visiting Havana
It is not cheap, but nowhere of this class ever is.

I was in Cuba for 2 weeks. I stayed at Melia Cohiba, Nacional and NH Parque Central. The service and the rooms are more or less the same in the three hotels. NH is a bit more sofisticated, National is very charming and Meliá Cohiba is in the middle of nowhere.

The rooms are not amazing and modern but this is very hard to find in Cuba. Most rooms have a beautiful view of Capitolio and Parque Central. There is also a rooftop restaurant and pool with a great view of Havana.

The breakfast is the best I had in 17 days in Cuba!

I'd definetely stay there again, although if you are between NH and Nacional I'd recommend Nacional... It has more or less the same service, but it is a lot more charming.

After 10 days of poor weather in Guardalavaca, we were so looking forward to our 5 days in Havana - and we were not disappointed. As honeymooners, we were given a fantastic room with views of the Capitol and the square. The quality of the room was absolutely 5* (and made the supposed 5* Paradissus Rio di Oro in Guardalavaca seem like a very poor 3* by comparison! Complimentary heart shaped cake, card, etc - nice touches. I loved having a pillow menu - as I find it really difficult to get the right number and firmness of pillow for a comfortable night. HUGE (more than king) bed; fabulous bathrooms (my particular requirement - and again, far better than PRDO)
Staff generally excellent, although like previous reviewer, the cash conversion service was dreadfully slow - better to simply go down Obispo to the bank with ATMs.
Rooftop pool is excellent and the views magnificent. We also spent our last evening at the hotel restaurant, which was listed in travel guide as expenive but worth it for a special evening - and I could not agree more. The food was superb, the service intimite, accompanied by guy singing and playing piano - an absolutely magical evening.

We stayed here for just one night on our way home but were impressed .We had previously stayed at the more expensive Saratoga Hotel and while this is bigger and busier it's rooms are larger and more modern than the quieter Saratoga. The location is good and the staff helpful and friendly.Breakfast was buffet style and quite good.
A good place to stay for a couple of days in transit but it seemed a bit busy and businesslike for an extended stay .

Stayed here for 3 nights at the start of a tour of Cuba and it was a great introduction to the Country. The rooms are large and comfortable, the staff are friendly, the location is perfect for sightseeing in Old Havanna and the sparkling wine for breakfast was great!

We stayed here for our first 3 nights in Cuba on our honeymoon with Virgin and then traveled onto Varadero to Sandals for the rest of our holiday.

We loved this hotel! The location was wonderful and we were given a 7th floor with a fantastic view (room 745) that looked out over the city and the square of Parque Central.

Our room was fab, large clean and a very good standard and we found it very comfy.

Very good base for the Havana sightseeing and because it was so central everything was so close by and then the hotel was a good sanctuary to retreat back to after the bustle of Havana. Great to watch life go by from our room. We enjoyed the lobby bar and drank our way through the cocktail list!

Loved the rooftop pool and it was fab! Disliked the Virgin flight crew who had brought us out there taking up all the sun loungers (but we had an additional 11 days at the beach so we caught up with the lazying there and were making the most of our time in Havana sightseeing!) The view was great and we spent quite a lot of time up there just sitting on the terrace having a drink or lunch enjoying the view when we needed re-fueling.

Breakfast was lovely and so much choice. We didn't eat in the restaurant at all in the evenings but did eat at the rooftop evening arrangement and had a lovely steak and rice which was very good and quite reasonable. We ate locally for the other 2 evenings we were there for some variety and we found that generally Havana is expensive and the prices in the hotel were not overpriced compared to other places.

Could not fault this hotel at all and for the price we paid we found that it beat a lot of London hotels both in quality, how luxurious and for value for money! We did see a couple of other hotels nearby and they didn't seem to compare at all to this one so we are very happy with our choice and we would recommend this hotel.

You definitely need a few days in Havana to explore and get a feel for what Cuba is all about. We loved our trip and the Parque Central was a great start to our holiday.
