Great local bars and architecture. Havana is a photographer's dream, for the landscapes and colours has depth and mystery

“Must visit”
Reviewed July 30, 2014

WOW! I've been fascinated with Cuba for years and I have dreamed about visiting Old Havana and all the places I read about. Old Havana is a must when visiting Cuba. When I first visited, we took a horse and carriage ride (a bit of a tourist trap but we didnt care) and got a comprehensive tour from a pleasant gentleman called Henry.
Its very hard to describe how fantastic this place is - we had lunch (not very good) and my bf got a haircut from one of the men in a an old time barbershop (an exp he wld nvr forget) . The people were fantastic (always trying to sell you something as Cubans are the most committed hustlers you wld find) and I can't wait to visit again

“Thomas Cook tour to Havana from Hotel Daiquiri, Cayo Guillermo”
Reviewed July 29, 2014

We had a one day trip to Havana, early morning flight but well worth it. Once in Havana, Thomas Cook separate the differnt nationalities so our party were all English, our guide, Lissette certainly knew her stuff and made the day very enjoyable. We visited various squares, churches and the haunts of Hemmingway. The old buildings show the spendour of bygone days but now need a lot of money to bring them back to glory, a real shame. Lots of old American cars in various states of repair, but a real treat to see. Lunch was provided and a welcome rest. The airport is very basic but you can get a drink and some snacks. We arrived back just in time to get dinner in the hotel.

“Private driver and English speaking guide!”
Reviewed July 27, 2014

It was recommended by others this was the way to go !! We booked Monika who speaks english and is very knowledgeable on the history of Cuba. She tweaked the tour to meet our expectations. Our driver El Guille drove a beautiful old chevy which added some fun to the experience. You can reach Monika at monikavaradero@nauta.co . El Guille also is available for taxi service (+53) 52450130. Next trip we hope to stay a few days in Old Havana with a camera. Beautiful history to be captured.
Thanks again Monika and El Guille
