Owner description: Once the Finca Vigia, this ghost-white Spanish-colonial home was where Papa penned some of his greatest novels.

If you love Papa's work, especially The Old Man and the Sea, then you have to visit the Finca...they have kept it just as he left it back in the 50's, and it is fascinating to see. Only one detail has changed...they have hidden the old man's gun collection, apparently for fear they might be stolen and used for yet another assassination attempt on you know who!

It's easy to see why Hemingway loved his life in Cuba. His spacious, airy home exudes comfort and charm. The open plan with so many doors and windows makes it possible to peer back in time and imagine the lively parties and frequent visitors who filled his home over the years.

Be advised, if a staff member offers to borrow your camera to take a shot of one of the rooms, or his typewriter on his desk, expect to offer a tip in exchange.

This was great. The house is lovely and is how Hemingway left it. You can't go into the house, but all the windows and doors are open so you can see inside. Well worth a visit.

This is worth the visit. It is a little ways out of town, but the drive there is very interesting and the museum itself is great. On top of showing you Hem's house and contents, it has his previous view of town - down the hill, and has a studio/lookout in which he used to work.

The staff is very friendly and helpful.

It's worth the visit and the 5CUC admission price.

Wasn't planning on going but we ended up here. Fantastic. You could just imagine the times they had here. The boat was as magnificent as the house. Well worth going out to see.
