For anyone who is a fan of Ernest Hemingway as a novelist and an intriguing character, a visit to his room in the Hotel Ambos Mundos is a must. We did not stay in this hotel, so cannot comment on how it is to stay in but I would imagine it is pretty noisy for most of the day from the continuous line of tourists visiting the novelist's room.
This is the room in which he is reputed to have written two of his greatest novels and occasionally entertained his lady friends. Here you can see his bed - very small for such a big man - in addition to his typewriter and other memorabilia. He certainly must have been well-in with the management as he got a prime room with marvellous views. After visiting the room, be sure to make your way to the roof garden bar where you can get marvellous views of Havana. More
