we had 2 weeks in that resort around December 2012. Resort is in front line of the beach. It is located at the last roundabout going direction Santa Barbara, short behind Captain's Don Habitat. Own Jetty, own entrance for divers. Rooms are clean, american style (kitchen), 1 bedroom apartments sleeping room doesn't have a window , just one at the staircase, therefore the whole night some light coming through the blends. Bathrooms no window as well. Balconies are spacious, but no sun protection. Not much protection against the mosquitos and sandflies, no ventilation on the terrace, no mosquitos net, no mosquitos protection for the balcony/terrace doors. we have been eaten by the moscs and flies in within the first 2 days before we started our private Anti Mosquito and Sandfly program. Walls are extremely thin, noise from neighbor unavoidable. Receptionist is always friendly and tries its best to help. Don't forget, this is a fractional ownership resort, so in case of problems no owner is there, only the management company.

I highly recommend Den Laman.

We have stayed their twice and it is clean, modern and safe.
Its also a small resort so you don't get the cattle boat crowds and noise.

I don't think I will ever stay elsewhere when going to Bonaire.

The condos are great and the on-site dive service is excellent. I also love the fact I get to pick up and drop of the included rental truck at the airport.

Room Tip: You can't make a bad choice here -- but the studio condos face away from the ocean. If you want an ocean front or an ocean view don't get the studio condo.

My wife and I started staying at Den Laman in 2008 and we have returned here every year. We like this place because it's a relatively small operation and gives a feeling of intimacy, peace, and quiet. Another reason, of course, is that our favorite dive shop (Bonaire Dive and Adventure) is co-located here.

Throughout our stays we've sampled all different types of condos available here (except the luxury condo on the ground floor). This year we stayed in a studio. This is basically a smaller version of the 1 bedroom units, facing east.

Den Laman is now offering limited free wifi, which is a welcome amenity. I say "limited" because free access is limited to 1 device per bedroom; it would be nice if they offered access for 1 device per traveler; or better yet free access for each traveler irrespective of device (sometimes I like to use my laptop, sometimes just my iPhone). I am sure that a lot of customers will appreciate the amenity.

Housekeeping used to be a daily service, but it is not offered every other day. I think it reflects challenging times with the economy on the island. But it's a decision I respect as the operators are trying to keep the cost down. Anyway, we didn't have an issue with the reduced frequency of housekeeping.

The restaurant (Sunset Grill) has closed and hopefully a new venture will take over the space soon.

Checkin and checkout remain fast, easy, and convenient. Amina and Monique take good care of their guests.

Nearby amenities include the venerable Chat'n Browse shop, the bakery with the delicious pastechi for breakfast, Lover's Lane icecream, and a few more shops opening across the street.

Less than a week since our return from Den Laman and we are already planning our next stay!

We just finished our 4th trip to Bonaire, 2nd stay at this particular condo at Den Laman. We stayed on the 2nd floor facing the ocean with a very large patio & perfect view. The condo is well appointed and has an excellent kitchen. Amina and the other woman in the office were helpful (Amina is very approachable, the other...not so much, but when we needed something, we asked anyway and were never denied - we just felt like we were bothering her). We had 2 bedrooms & 2 baths and a nice living area - although the couch is not terribly comfortable. We generally shop and prepare breakfast & lunch each day and dinner out most nights. The restaurant downstairs is closed indefinitely, which was a surprise, but not a problem. We have used Bonaire Dive & Adventure, mostly so we can use the facilities and especially access the Bari Reef from the dock which we did at least 2x/day. This is the best reef - anywhere! The dive operation has changed over the years, but that is another review! You won't go wrong staying here.

Room Tip: Ocean front is worth the extra $$.

Our 10th stay coming to an end. Except for the very uncomfortable couch every apartment is well appointed with and excellent kitchen. More important the primary manager, Amina will do whatever she can to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. And the ladies that clean each day do a good job of keeping the rooms tidy, providing lots of fresh towels and even getting the dishes washed each day.

We have dived every dive site that Susan Porter (best Bonarie dive guide) calls an easy entry and of all of them, the Den Laman house reef, Bari is by far the best dive for the very diverse selection of small fish.

The dive operation is Bonaire Dive and Adventure (BDA). A small operation with 2 small open boats and the most knowledgeable naturalist on the island, Jerry Ligon. They have gotten some poor reviews but seem fine to these two experienced divers. One complaint was that the tanks were only filled to 2,800 psi. That happens on the dock because of the long run from the pumps up the hill at the tank drive thru. Tanks at the drive up area are consistently 3,100 psi.

We experienced only one o-ring tank leak in the last two weeks. Managers ask divers to mark such tanks for repair, yet I have seen divers hear a leak and just put the tank back for someone else to use. We inspect every tank when we take it out and most seem in good shape. Managers seem happy when we report a possible worn o-ring and place the tank aside for repair.

Rental equipment is another story. In good working order but well worn. Minimum number of dive computers so reserve one early when you plan your trip.

Overall I rate BDA as good.

Room Tip: Spend a little extra and go for the "Ocean View" to enjoy the sunsets
