Owner description: The Mangazina di Rei (1824) was used by the Dutch government to store provisions for the slaves. This second oldest stone building on Bonaire now forms part of our Cultural Park where visitors can see, feel & taste the culture of Bonaire. A guided tour includes history to experience, instruments to play, great views to enjoy and a traditional beverage that's worth to taste.A fascinating way to soak the local culture. You will never forget it!

Really enjoyed the demonstration of local instruments and the chance to try them out. (it is harder than it looks.) Fun time!

We visited on a Saturday when the monthly Cultural Market was going on. It was a rare treat to see the different activities of old-time island life like the baking of bread in the wood-fired ovens, locally grown foods, and tasting the local cuisine. Local band was playing the music of the island. Lots to see around the "Storehouse of the King" including local architecture, specimens of local trees, all labeled, local art, crafts and interesting souvenirs. The locals we met were friendly and all spoke English!
Even if there wasn't a market it would have been a worthwhile visit.

Great Bonaire history & folklore experience. Particularly enjoyed the cactus fence building demo, and traditional music "lesson". Small start-up museum with dedicated employees.

The Eisenhower Institute at Gettysburg College traveled to Bonaire to conduct a sustainability survey of the island. While there, we wanted to immerse ourselves in the Bonairian culture. The Mangazina di Rei was incredible. We had a fantastic experience and it was a lot of fun. An absolute must while you are in Bonaire.
