“Chez magnificent!”

We loved every bite from the goat cheese salad to the crepe Suzette! This is just our second night here and we plan on going back before we leave. Just a short walk from Harbor Village.

“Belgian excellence”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

Looking for something different for my wife's birthday we went to Chez Madelaine and were not disappointed. The restaurant is very cozy and has a small dining area so plan ahead and make a reservation. The music is authentic with many of the great French crooners singing at a moderate level, conversation there is easy. The food is terrific with lovely sauces and fresh ingredients from local suppliers. The service is prompt and the waitress knowledgable, she even speaks 4 languages.
My goat cheese salad and lamb main course were spot on very satisfying and my wife quail salad and duck main course made her night. We finished the night with a chocolate fondant as happy birthday play over the sound system. We will certainly add this place to our need to go back list.

“excellent”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

We started with goat cheese from a local village Rincon, after that rack of lamb and finished with chocolate fondant. All were excellent, but to make a difference the goat cheese was the best followed by the chocolate fondant and ending with the rack of lamb. Service was great and we even were allowed to take a picture with the chef and his wife

“Ambience, food and service all excellent”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

It started with a complimentary escargot and ended with a chocolate fondant. In between was an excellent rack of lamb in tarragon sauce for me, and a shrimp scampi for my wife. All served by a very charming and engaging hostess/server, Max. This small restaurant is situated pool-side at the Yachtclub apartments and is surrounded by palm trees; the perfect intimate island setting.

Used crusty bread to sopped up every last drop of the butter and garlic sauce from the escargot. Then used the last of the bread to sop up the tarragon sauce from the lamb and table manners were relaxed as I picked up the bones to get the last of each lamb morsal. Finally the chocolate fondant - after just one taste, I was sorry I had agreed to share this one serving!

If you are on Bonaire this is a dinning experienced not to be missed.

“Belgian-French Cuisine on Bonaire: Very good value overall”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

After hearing very positive recommendations for Chez Madeleine, we called and immediately were able to reserve a table for 2 the same evening. It is a pleasantly, lit open-air, quiet restaurant. The helpful Dutch hostess facilitated a change of seating when we became immediately downwind of smoking diners. The salad was generous and tasty, though the walnuts had a slightly old taste. We ordered the specials: rack of lamb and catch of the day, which were excellent, even the au gratin potatoes were delicious. The wine list was predominantly (all?) french wines, and we ordered house red and white, both good.
