I've had several very good meals here. Each time, by chance I have also met my island friends eating here. Great dinner of fresh seafood and after dinner drinks while. I strongly recommend making a reservation for dinner.

We decided to make reservations at L'Amuse after reading the many positive reviews it received on Trip Advisor. We were very glad we did!

We were greeted warmly and sat outside on the patio, in very comfortable tufted velvet chairs.
The patio was comfortable and had a nice breeze to ward off any insect predators.

The waitress/sous chef informed us that they did not utilize menus in the evening, and so she proceeded to tell us the "specials," this format allows them to use the freshest, local ingredients available. Although we could have ordered one of the tempting "special" dishes alone, we opted to put our appetites in the chef's hands and chose a 3 course menu, prepared and chosen by the chef. The waitress made sure to ask us if we had any particular food dislikes or food allergies.

Our first course included prosciutto, parma ham, and another cured meat, olives, garlic/olive oil shrimp skewers (FANTASTIC), a fried beef dish, and local mussels with a delicious homemade mustard sauce, and a special curried "cole slaw." The subsequent courses included a pasta dish, beef tenderloin, and fish and scallops. We were so full, there was unfortunately no room for dessert!
I would recommend L'Amuse to anyone visiting (or living on) Bonaire who wants a unique and delicious meal experience!
I know they offer breakfast, brunch, and lunch options as well, that menu looked delicious!
Be prepared for "island time"-service is very friendly, but not overly fast.
The restaurant serves wine, but does not have a wine list-you will receive whatever they have on hand. Essentially, you choose between white, red, or sparkling wine. We chose a white, and what we were served was a Chilean wine, and we did end up enjoying the bottle very much.

A nice, small bistro attached to a hotel off the main street area. Richard, the previous owner and chef is no longer working there. Jhane is now the main hostess and cook. She prepared us a nice antipasto dish to start followed by a beef and pasta dish. Chilled red wine was a little unusual but was fine since it was a hit night.
Most seating is on a patio outside. Although we were the only guests in the restaurant at the time, Jhane asked us to move where we were sitting during our meal in order to allow them to prepare a table for 8 guests... Who only showed up as we were about to leave. Moving during a meal is not really cool... Especially since we're were moved from some cushion, nice seats to a lopsided table with wooden slat chairs. Not a great experience overall but Jhane is a nice person and good cook.

Don't come here with an agenda or a short time table. This is a restaurant where you let Richard decide what to make for you and you relax and enjoy. I went with a vegetarian. Richard took care of us both and made us a delightful four course meal. The soup to start was the kind that makes you feel obliged to say mmmm with every bite. The cheese cake at the end was the best I've ever tasted. He even created a drink for us to begin with.

Our meal took 3+ hours to finish. A perfect date! (we had a babysitter)

the food is quite good, but it's the owner, richard who makes the place special. he is maitre d, chef and waiter. as others have written, he comes over to your table, asks about your likes and dislikes, then tailors a 5 course meal to you. he is friendly and gracious, not pushy.

others have written that there space between courses. yes, there is. he was cooking and serving 6 tables tonight. we got out in just under 2 hours. so bring a book, or someone you like to talk to. we noticed the wait, but didn't mind it. he had a zucchero cd playing, which helped the vibe.
