We love La Guernica. We love the porch dining and all of the tapas options. We typically order strictly tapas (LOVE the goat cheese tapas, the coconut shrimp, and the calamari and the gazpacho is amazing), but occasionally order their catch-of-the-day trio (which is fresh and delicious too). Be sure to make reservations! Good for parties up to 6, 8 is pushing it.

Surprising restaurant, it looks quite informal and invites you to come in. Thought would get some Spanish Tapas (due to the name) but as we saw the menu, they were quite ambitious in their proposal (way beyond just Tapas). We ordered and I must say my dish was delicious (as was everyone else's at the table). Service was very nice, with big smiles everywhere. Will definitely return.

Good option for vegetarians. Their tapas menu is delicious and makes it easy for those with dietary restrictions.

I've been to Bonaire 13 times now and I've eaten at La Guernica every time. The owner, Marta, is very sweet and runs a very tight ship. The service is consistently excellent and the food is magnificent and very well priced.

I always order from the tapas menu and, at a minimum, get the bacon-wrapped pan fried goat cheese. It may actually be my favorite food item ever! I usually order 2-3 tapas for a meal and then we'll get one order of the bread with tapenade to share...it's a big hunk of fresh warm country-style bread and is delish!

European visitors and residents of Bonaire tend to eat later than Americans do, so the place gets pretty packed after about 7:30. I highly recommend you make reservations in advance. Be sure to take your camera and enjoy one of the best sunset views on the island right from your seaside table.

We found ourselves wandering around town on a Saturday night in February, discovering that lots of restaurants were closed. What a strange night for a restaurant to close!! Mona Lisa, Paradise Moon, Appetite and more were all closed, and most others were really busy because a hard rain had knocked out all outdoor tables that were not under cover.

La Guernica, one of our top choices anyway, initially had a long wait. But we walked around, and by the time we came back, the wait was pretty much over. They initially sat us on the side near a biker bar, but moved us to the waterfront within a few minutes. Service was friendly and fairly prompt, considering island time.

We enjoyed the shrimp, calamari and the goat cheese salad the most. Wine was just ok. They were nice to the kids. The view was great. All in all, we'd go back.
