“Jan 2012 - 3rd time at Bamboo Bali - It just gets better & better!”
Reviewed January 18, 2012

This was our 3rd trip to Bonaire & also 3rd time to Bamboo Bali.

Since our last stay, there was a lot of improvements done : 2 Jacuzzis, salt water pool, ambiances lighting & some relaxing areas. Staying at Bamboo Bali is like visiting family members, we always felt welcome like we were part of the owner's family.

The cottages are nice and very clean. You'll have anything you need: sleep in king bed, relax on many little places around your cottage, cook inside or BBQ outside... If there anything missing: just ask.... It's so simple!

For diving purposes, Bamboo Bali gets everything in charge; they'll get you your air package with Wannadive, pick-up truck & gear cleaning/drying area.

Next time we are going to Bonaire, we surely are going to stay at Bamboo Bali!

Thanks again Anno, Vera & Sebastian!

What a little jewel! We have been to Bonaire twice before staying at different, bigger properties. Both worked for us then but on our December 2011, trip we were looking for R&R and lots of water time. Bamboo Bali was the right answer. Small, cozy, private - all of the amenities we wanted. We were just across the road and a less than five minute walk from Captain Don's, where we were able to access the water at any time. The bungalows at BBB are lovely and well-kept and the kitchenette allowed us to eat at least one meal, usually two, at "home" each day (we actually began calling it that). The property is a small rain forest, lush and colorful, and Sebastian kindly gave us a tour with the history of the many different plants. The owners, Anno, Vera and Sebastian, couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. They are accessible when you need assistance but never invasive. It rained quite a bit during our weeklong stay and they kept apologizing, at which we laughed because we are from New Mexico and in the middle of a 50 year drought! Rain on the roof at night was soothing and a cooling walk in a daytime drizzle couldn't have felt better. The property is well located, near several small stores with grocery items, including rum and beer, and walking distance from several other properties with restaurants. For honeymooners or others looking for privacy or for small groups looking for a place to be together (but not too close!), this is a good pick. Oh, and did we mention how reasonable it is? Note: if you are arriving on an early a.m. flight, you'll need to have a plan for off property activities until mid-day as check-in isn't until 3pm.

We stayed at BBB in December 2011, and felt it was truly unique place with clean and cozy bungalows, in the middle of an amazing tropical garden. A special place! The family running the resort was also very helpful and kind. No breakfast, room service or restaurants, but you can find these across the street.

We loved staying here! Anno and Sebastian will do anything to make your stay comfortable, including making hotel reservations for you. The room was lovely and clean and the environment beautiful, with tropical plants all over the garden. There is a small kitchen, which is useful if you do not want to cook a lot. The bathroom is small but adequate. Overall, a very good stay and I would recommend this place to any couple. This is not a place for people with children.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the street. The Sumatra is a good one.

Bamboo Bali is a special, private and romantic little place. There are five private bungalows each with a kitchen, wireless internet, satellite TV, a fabric draped bed and private bathroom. In addition, both 110 and 220 voltage electrical outlets are provided in each room. On the grounds, privacy abounds with the lush tropical vegetation and carefully partitioned cottages. There are two gas grills, a small but gorgeous salt water pool, two hot tubs and outside showers. If you are a diver, there are areas for washing equipment as well as a place to hang dry wet suits. Since we don't eat out (serious food allergy), we shopped at the large and modern Van Den Tweel for groceries. A couple of notes, in the rainy season there are mosquitos so bring your repellant and the road in front of the property can be loud with traffic on occasion, so if a light sleeper you might want to request one of the cottages in the interior.
We were on the island for windsurfing which involved a daily drive to Lac Bay but I can say with great satisfaction, it was worth the commute to stay at this wonderful place. Anno helped us with reservations on the sailboat 'Compass' for a wonderful snorkel trip out to Klein Bonaire, and both he and Sebastian helped with any advice we needed about the island. On the last night, when the island electricity went out for a couple of hours (remember this is the Caribbean), the candles and lanterns provided and the plentiful stars were a magical reminder of the past and we were somewhat disappointed when the lights came back on! Don's Habitat, across the street from Bamboo Bali, has a beautiful bar overlooking the ocean and every night we watched the sunset, happy to walk back to our magical little bit of paradise to finish our day. Bamboo Bali is a winner.

Room Tip: Bungalows away from the street are quieter.

This 5 bungalow resort just north of the capitol of bonaire provided easy access to the airport, great restaurants and many superb snorkeling sites accessible from the beach. Lots of privacy beautiful tropical plants, friendly and helpful owners. Car rental available through hotel along with excellent snorkeling guide made this a very easy and enjoyable vacation for us.

Room Tip: only 5 and all about the same

We spent 8 days here for our honeymoon in October and could not have been happier with Bamboo Bali. Where to start? Continental changed our flight so we had to arrive a day earlier than planned - they did not even charge us for the additional night! Our cottage (Uluwatu) was beyond our expectations - it was so beautiful! It was our own private oasis for the week. We were so comfortable there! It was very clean and had everything we needed - fridge, cooking area, seating area....the porch was beautiful...it was so nicely decorated... just perfect. They had it all prepared for our arrival, complete with a bottle of champagne and an adorable hand-painted sign with our names above the cottage door. This is a family run place and they are ALL so kind, friendly, helpful and just the perfect hosts. You feel as though you are part of the family but they are not pushy...they leave you alone but are social and available whenever you need them. The place is impeccably landscaped and amazingly, the cottages are fairly close together but you feel as though you are isolated and private the way the trees and plants are arranged. There are beautiful plants, trees and flowers all over the property and at night the little white lights make it look like a dream. The place is within a locked compound so it's not like resorts where it is all open and anyone can walk in. You feel very secure. If you are looking for that big resort feel with action, restaurants, bars etc, then this is not the place for you. if you are looking for a wonderfully unique, tranquil, beautiful and relaxing oasis, with a personal feel, then this is most definitely the place for you. The price was unbelievably reasonable and it comes with a car!! This was one of the best parts about it. We were able to go all over the island and it came with our package. Where else do you find that??? Amazing. We are not divers, but they have everything you need there to store and rinse your equipment. The pool area was perfect - small but lovely and quiet. We spent a few days just hanging by the pool, using the jacuzzi and relaxing. They even have wireless internet. We could go on and on but in closing - Bamboo Bali is an absolute gem. We love the Bamboo Bali team and will be returning some day., for sure. Having been all over the island, there is NO other place we would stay in Bonaire. Thank you Bamboo Bali family for making our honeymoon so special!!
