We wanted to go cheap in Bonaire - so we got what we paid for. I'm not complaining, I wanted to save on hotel stay. We stayed in a studio. The room smelt so bad! And the kitchenette in the room smelt even worse! There were two beds in the room and one was infested with bed bugs. My boyfriend saw one jump on his laptop and he woke up with little bites everywhere! This is one of the hotels farthest away from everything. It is near some dive sites, but far from food, shops or anything else. Lots of dive sites nearby though. Pluses were: cheap cost of the stay and the free wireless internet!

we stayed 10 nights in March/April 2009.
Simple and adequate as base camp of diving. not far from the centre and quiet location.
However, 'something extra' does not exist here. As name of the resort suggests, creativity and extra service simply does not exist.

-Breakfasts were exactly same for 10 days, cold bacon and sausage, cold scrambled egg, all precooked even when we were the only two in whole resorts.
-BBQ nights exist, but all are pre-cooked and kept in thermal cover.
-Dinner is same, beef/pork/chiken/goat all cooked in exactly same sauce.
-staff are friendly but not very helpful. (taxi will come pick you up when they are ready, is what we were told).
-quality of tanks are terrible (they comes from Buddy Dives so not fully their fault though). about 20% of tanks we used had faulty o-rings. Some morning, there were not enough tanks on resorts.
-Gear washing tank was horrible, get cleaned only once every two days..

Having said that, we had good divings. If your main aim is to have divings and not spend much time in resort, this place is good.

We just returned from a 3 night stay at CCB, and later in the week, another night before our return to the states. We were met by cheerful staff, very helpful, and found the room charming. Hotplate, a few pots/pans, toaster, adequate dishes, utensils. Small fridge that was working well. Bathroom had not been cleaned, at all, and I went back to the desk to ask about that, and was told someone would be sent over. We left for a while, and upon returning found no change. I had antiseptic wipes, and used those to clean enough for the night. The room never did get that bath cleaned in the 3 days we were there. I had asked for a bathmat and was told the maid was probably out of them. I bought cleaning supplies at the store the next day and did my own cleaning.
The breakfast was 8 dollars, but very good, with cooked-to-order omelets, great sausage and bacon, fruits, breads, juices, yogurts. Plenty to fill up on. Tea/coffee cups are very tiny! Staff was very nice. Other than the breakfast, the restaurant and bar were very expensive. A small rum and pineapple juice was 7 dollars, a small bottle of water was 2.50.
Overall, a charming Caribbean-feeling place that was close enough to town, and very close to awesome snorkeling. The maps are very easy to read.
By the way, when we returned to our room 3 days later, it was like a different place, a new little sofa had been added, the floor and bathroom were shining. We did enjoy our stay there.

We stayed for a week in early feburary 09. We enjoyed the hotel, and found it was exactly what we needed and wanted. The room was comfortable and clean, but simple. This is not a 5 star hotel by any means, but if you plan on spending the time diving or otherwise not sitting around the hotel it will suit you fine. The kitchen was a sink/fridge/hot plate with basic pots and utensils. The bathroom was simple and clean.

Don't expect amenities like fancy soaps or pillow mints. The house keeping came every other day and was kind of quirky. For instance they took our wet bath mat, and didn't replace it. I am sure that had we asked the staff would've taken care of it.

The staff was very helpful, the bar was nice for beers or morning coffee but there are better restaraunts in town for real meals.

The hotel is on the outskirts of Kralendijk, on the way out of town, but still only a few minutes to downtown.

We don't dive, but their dive shop seemed adequate and the hotel is only a mile or two from several very nice and accessible dive sites. Check out the caves across the street from the hotel, look for the obelisk and follow the path. its an interesting, if unmarked spot.

I would absolutely recommend the Caribeean Club Bonaire if you are looking for simple accomodations at a good price. If you want 5 stars, and resort amenities check out Divi or one of the resort style hotels in town. We would absolutely stay there again.

Caribbean Club Bonaire is an excellent hotel for those of us who aren't looking to lose tons of money on extravagance and luxury. We stayed for 1 week and at $80/night you couldn't ask for anything better. The rooms are well done (ours had a small fridge, little kitcheonette, etc) and a safe, nice shower/bathrooms. As you would expect with a budget hotel, there are areas that could improve: landscapring, paint, more frequent room cleaning, etc. but overall it was a exceptional place for the value. It included breakfast every morning, there are 3 pools, it's right by a nice dive/snorkel spot, and the sunsets are killer.

More than anything, the people that work at Caribbean Club are as good as you'll find: super friendly, hard working, and they'll help their guests with whatever you ask (dinner reservations, finding the best beaches, car rentals...anything we asked for help with they were able to accommodate).

One important thing to know: Caribbean Club is a 5 minute drive outside of town (which was nice on New Years Eve since I'm sure we escaped the fireworks going off at 4 am...) but it does require a scooter, rental car or taxi to get to town. For the most part, almost everyone on Bonaire has a rental car to get around to the different dive spots/beaches, but it's important to know.

Big fans of Caribbean Club, if we go back to Bonaire we'll stay there again for sure.

Happy Travels!
