The topography at Bari isn't pretty. Mostly shelves of rock or concrete and coral rubble. But it's like being in an aquarium. You enter the water and there are scads of fish right away. And not just the common species, either. We saw a highhat, spotted drums, scrawled cowfish and lots of small eels. If you love snorkeling, you've got to check it out. Get directions from a local, it's not easy to find.

Now that the Town Pier can't be dived, this is the best spot for a night dive. There are tons of eels out hunting, lobsters, shrimp, crabs, scorpionfish, and of course the tarpon. These huge silver fish come find you on the reef and accompany you the whole dive. They want to hunt small fish in your light, so if you keep your light close they will come right up to you as if begging for you to cast your light out on the reef.

Right outside the back door of the Sand Dollar condos; steps away from your patio to a gorgeous dive. Doesn't get any better than that.

My wife's family and I took our first dive at Bari Reef. It was a morning dive with a great reward. We saw lots of shrimp, eels, corals, fish, and marine life. Then, as we were leaving, we got a great show from a giant Manta. He was probably about a 2-3 m wingspan. Great place to start a dive vacation, especially if you are looking for an easy site.

Easy access, reef in 20', dense sloping wall of hard corals, soft corals, and sealife. This is always my second dive of the day.
