Owner description: The Mangrove Information Center is an excursion center. Visitors to the center learn about the mangroves, one of the most unknown and most endangered environments on our planet. The Mangrove Information Center offers guided kayak and solar boat tours through the beautiful mangrove forest of Lac Bay on Bonaire's western coastline. Meet the enthusiastic and knowledgeable crew who will take you out on a guided tour by either kayak or solar boat. The center has single or double "sit-on-top" kayaks, easy to handle, especially for beginners. The solar boat has an electric-driven outboard so there's no noise and no pollution! Elly Albers

This was a GREAT experience. The guide was very informative and helpful. We took the 2 hour kayak and snorkel tip. The mangroves are beautiful. There is ALOT of fish life to see The pace was nice and slow. even if you haven't been in a kayak before - DO IT!. Lots of fun and educational.

“Fun and easy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2014

We arrived and soon as we stepped out of the car a donkey keep to greet us. Great!
We had to wait till the complete group was complete, all of us needed to buy a special protection card for the reef which you can purchase for $10 each. After that we went off to the Mangrove. We did make a reservation before, this is recommendable! During our trip our guide was very slow and took a lot of time to explain a few things, as if he needed to gain the time. Anyhow, the trip was wonderful. The zenith was absolutely when I saw a sea turtle in the mangrove. It is fun and easy to do. Make sure you were you bikini and swimshort, because you are going to be wet.

“Something to do above the water!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2014

Make a reservation since LOTS of divers are taking the kayak tour on their last day before flying.
Also, make sure you give yourself time to get there on time. It's easy to find now that they have more signs, but takes longer than you think it will. I LOVE this kayak center and visit on almost every trip to Bonaire. You learn a lot from the guides before you even enter the kayaks. The guides are so informative and make the trip fun and educational.

“Great time!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2014

On a last full day in Boniare, divers aren't supposed to dive for safety reasons, so we chose to have this to do on the last day. We took the 2 hour kayak and snorkel trip. It was excellent! The guide was wonderful, the paths we went through were beautiful and interesting. Mostly the pace was nice and slow (my dad however doesn't know his own strength and would propel me along a bit too briskly than I'd liked), and many times we were allowed to linger and take pictures too. The guide was eager to answer questions, and was passionate about teaching about the flora and fauna without being preachy (which is wonderful). For my dad, it was his second time through with this excursion tour, and he said he learned new things each time, and enjoyed it just as much both times. I can't wait to go back, and will definitely make a point of returning for another kayaking and snorkeling foray, and I've already told my daughter (visiting in August) all about it! Bring water, *sunscreen & mosquito spray already freshly applied*, snorkel mask, and a sense of adventure.

“Kayaking and snorkeling - amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2014

Took the 2-hour kayak and snorkel tour with my husband and 9 year-old son. Tandem for the guys, single for me. Beautiful tunnels through the mangroves and snorkeling there was just so different and amazing! It was well worth the trip!
