I can't say enough good things about Little Arches! We spent two weeks in Barbados for our honeymoon splitting our stay between The Crane and Little Arches. I can confidently say my wife and I LOVED Little Arches and would definitely return. The staff, room, pool, food, amenities were perfect for our 2nd week in Barbados. Going from such a big place like The Crane to Little Arches was a big change but it was like going from a large condo building with shared amenities to a new home with private everything.
We booked our trip off Expedia and it came full of surprises. First, I found a $100 off coupon online for our trip as an added bonus! Second, upon checking in, I guess Expedia partners with the tourism board of Barbados and gave us $400 USD worth of vouchers to use for things like fishing, catamaran sailing, food, drinks etc. so make sure you do that!
Now onto my review:
Room - We stayed in room 10, which we LOVED! It had a nice little couch, table and kitchenette in the front entryway (we had enough space to do a couples massage in our room!). The long hallway connected to the bedroom armed with an iHome system, flat screen TV and the door out to our garden view patio with a hot-tub.
Staff - Tara, Emma, Cherrise and Sandra were absolute Gems! They went out of their way to ensure we had transportation for dinner (when we chose to eat off-site), fun things to do and helped us plan our week. They even surprised us with a nice flower turn down service on our first night there (flower pedals in the hallway and a nicely made heart on the bed!). What seems to be a custom in Barbados happens on Wednesday with a complimentary happy hour. I recommend attending this as you get to know the other guests there and makes for a much more enjoyable week when you know the names of the other guests for the rest of the week.
Amenities - While we didn't have as much choice at Little Arches as we did at The Crane, we absolutely LOVED all the amenities and didn't mind not having as many choices as the food quality was overall better in our opinion.
Food - Cafe Luna is amazing. Shane, Oscar, Mona and Moo were so personable and made us feel right at home. The breakfast was great with multiple choices, lunch was amazing (fish & chips/luna burger were our favorites) and dinner was absolutely gorgeous. The view from Cafe Luna doesn't get any better and the food doesn't disappoint. There are a lot of choices with Thursday and Friday being sushi night which we really enjoyed. I was also surprised by the vast selection of wine as it surpassed the much larger resort at the Crane.
Pool - The whole week we were there, I felt like it was our private pool. With the proximity to Enterprise (Miami) Beach it makes for a tuff choice on where to spend your day. But we never had more than a couple other people at the pool and the water was always refreshing. An added bonus is provided sunscreen, water and Aloe for the tuff days in the sun :).
Other Amenities - Beach cruisers for easy access to Oistins, beach loungers were very comfortable and painless to have brought down to the beach. For the readers out there, a book cart is located at the pool for you to swap out your book for another one if you finish it during your stay and having a dedicated kitchen for breakfast and lunch for guests only provides fast and easy service.
Overall, this is the perfect hotel for you if you are looking for a honeymoon, anniversary or romantic getaway. They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable on your stay with nightly turndown service (with good chocolate), fresh flowers upon arrival, they even greeted us by name and provided a fun "honeymoon package" in our room full with a personalized hand written card, Mount Gay Rum, Rum cake and a nice flower bouquet.
If you stay here, you will not be disappointed!
Don't forget to walk to the fish fry on Friday in Oistins and catch amazing sunsets everything either at Cafe Luna or right out in front of the hotel looking toward the beach!
