Little Arches Boutique Hotel

Little Arches is one of the most charming hotels we have experienced.

Now when we are travelling without our children we look for small hotels. We look for the personal atmosphere, which includes meeting and talking to other quests and staff. This gives us added values to our vacation and the memories therefrom. So when planning the trip to Barbados we asked the travel agency for such request. The suggestion was Little Arches – ten bedrooms and a good restaurant, Cafe Luna

The personal atmosphere was there from the first minute upon arrival. The manager took care of us, showed us the hotel facilities- just adorable, with the ocean glittering in turquoise just as in the advertisement. The hotel has a small pool surrounded by nice designed chairs and beds. Our room, little Martinique, was wonderful and with a balcony overlooking the sea. We spent many late evenings there coming back from dinner.

All rooms are specially designed and we cannot describe the other but all other guests we talked to adored their rooms. We suggest that you really ask for the choices and choose after your preferences. The beach, Miami beach, is just across the small road outside the hotel (very quit road) and we took a swim before breakfast every day. In the morning you will meet a lot of local people that are exercising and take long swimming passes in the see. Wonderful

The restaurant Cafe Luna was one of the better restaurants we had dinner at during our stay. The food was great and the staff having the same personal attitude as those in the hotel.

The manager and staff in the reception were very helpful with good advices on where to go and what to see. They organized with renting a car. We happened to get a flat tire which we saw coming back from the morning swim and when we asked for help they had already been in contact and sent for help from the car rental company.

If you are looking for an hotel with atmosphere and quality – Little Arches is a perfect choice

Thanks to all of you at Little Arches –

Room Tip: All rooms are different and our advice is that you get in contact with the hotel to make your choice

My wife and I visited Barbados in mid July and we could not have been happier with the choice of a hotel we made. For those who look for a quiet retreat with a personal touch, "Little Arches" is the place to visit. In our opinion the hotel is situated in the best part of the island near the St.Lawrence gap with stunning views from the pool area and an incredible beach nearby. The personal touch "Little Arches" offers from room decor to staff service is all one could wish for. Although we booked our stay with a different operator we decided to post a review on Trip Advisor, especially after my wife and I receieved a heartworming email 2 weeks after our trip from Sandra and her staff expressing their gratitude for choosing to become part of the "Little Arches" family. We will definitely return there on our next trip to Barbados!

I cannot say enough about how great our honeymoon stay at this hotel was. We stayed for 6 nights before leaving for a 3 night stay on the East Coast. After the stay at Little Arches, we were so disappointed with the other hotel that we came back to Little Arches for the last night.

As other reviewers have said, the service is exceptional. They are so friendly and accommodating. They truly care about your happiness with the island and with the hotel.

The rooms are beautiful. We stayed in room 8, with a hottub on the deck. It was very spacious and deck was amazing. We used the pool more than expected. We were often the only ones in the pool so the size is not an issue at all. The staff from Cafe Luna is always available for drinks by the pool.

The location is great to experience the Bajan culture. We walked into town at least once a day to eat at the local food stands. The walk is short and we always felt safe. I wouldn't wear a big diamond ring, but I wouldn't be worried about safety either. We often took the taxi vans to other areas up the coast. These vans were great and only cost $2BDS to hop on and hop off.

Overall, this is probably the best hotel stay we have ever had. The only reason I think somebody would be disappointed is if they are looking for a big resort vacation with lots of people running around and games at the pool, beach, etc. Otherwise, there is nothing not to like!

Little Arches is a lovely hotel in a quiet, intimate, GORGEOUS setting. All the staff -- the cleaning staff, the maintenance staff, the front office staff, the back office staff -- are warm, funny, attentive, and kind (in short, very Bajan). The views are out of a National Geographic photo shoot. The hotel sits on the ocean, and the pristine "Miami" beach is a 2-minute walk down a quiet lane. Another five minutes brings you to the fishing village of Oistins, with fantastic roadside restaurants featuring fresh fish and local sides for reasonable prices (we loved Annie's, with its roosters and chickens milling around while the locals playing dominos!). Five-star restaurants are 10 minutes away by easily accessible cab. Best memory: floating in the private pool and looking at the stars, no noise, no worries.

Yes the location is stunning, the rooms are clean, spacious and luxurious and the decor unique and stylish... But what makes Little Arches the best is the 5 star service from the awesome staff.

From the second we arrived, the attention to detail from Sandra and her tremendous staff confirmed we had made the right choice of hotel.

The girls on reception feel like long time friends offering helpful advice on where to eat, what to do and the best spots on the beach - the lads serving at breakfast are curtious and friendly and the dinner staff at the excellent Cafe Luna, are equally as good.

Make sure you attend the Wednesday night cocktails by the pool with staff and other guests - with only 10 rooms it feels like an extended family and an excellent chance to sample the potent rum punch!

I've written a separate review of cafe Luna, but suffice to say, the exceptional standards continue here. Food and service is excellent.

Miami Beach is a few metres over the road, with crystal clear waters, golden sand and (much needed) shade it's perfect for a break from LittleArches lovely pool area.

We had a hot tub in our private decking area (room # 8) which we used every night after a day in the sun - well worth the extra $! See pics.

All in all, a fabulous place for us to spend the second week of an unforgettable honeymoon. We chose Little Arches for its location and facilties and will come back because of the people.

Great stuff.

My husband and I just got back from a (much) delayed honeymoon. After deciding on which Caribbean island to visit, we turned to tripadvisor to find the right hotel. We chose Little Arches based on its reviews and stayed for six nights. We absolutely LOVED it! The location, on the South coast, felt perfectly central and yet still remote. While the West coast has a lot of resorts, we preferred being a little more tucked away and getting a better feel for the real Barbados. We were a 10 minute walk from Oistins and we happily enjoyed their Friday night Fish Fry! Enterprise (Miami) Beach is right across the street and so beautiful and secluded. We were also very close to Bridgetown, two surfing spots, and a quick drive to the East and West coasts. My husband and I rented a car for the entire trip and drove the entire island. We agreed our location was perfect!

Then, there's the warm, incredible, and overly accommodating ladies behind the front desk!! If I could take them all home with me, I would have though I'd have rather stay there with them. They are so helpful and friendly ... always willing to help and give you recommendations or suggestions and making corresponding reservations. We really enjoyed Calbaza for sailing and snorkeling and surf lessons with Bodie - both arranged by the hotel staff!! Beyond that, they show such concern and caring for all of their guests. For example, I had an unfortunate hair knotting incident that kept me in the shower with a brush and four bottles of conditioner. My husband had to call Nadia to ask her for endless amounts of conditioner and an hour or so after the ordeal, she called down to the room to ask if I was doing okay. The restaurant and housekeeping staff's demeanors perfectly match and everyone makes it their aim to show you a beautiful time!

We were in Room #3 which was right at the front and next to the koi pond (which I admittedly enjoyed way too much). The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. There's great lounge furniture on each deck and by the gorgeous, intimate pool looking out over the water. There are such lovely decorative and hospitable touches everywhere and the restaurant, Cafe Luna, is great including some ridiculously good dessert options! I was recommended the restaurant by multiple locals so you know it hits the spot!

Room Tip: We were in Room #3. It's right at the entrance and on the first floor. We wanted one of the room...

My new husband and I spent our honeymoon at Little Arches for ten nights and it is truly a lovely hotel! We stayed in one of two rooms with it's own plunge pool, and the pool and room and general hotel upkeep was impeccable. We even had a crabby critter post up in our pool one morning and they handily took care of him before it was even an issue! It is an absolutely beautiful hotel, from the wonderful restaurant (which is delicious, and warrants it's own wonderful review) to the pool with the chandelier, to the rooms and the grounds. The staff is absolutely amazing! Sandra and the other girls will help set up massages, or just give you local info- they truly felt like friends when we left! Enough gushing, let's get to the good stuff. You are across the street, but a short minute or two walk to Miami Beach- the hotel even provides cushy chairs and sets them up for you. The beach is awe-inspiring- bring your camera!- and the locals spend a lot of time out there as well- and basically ignored us, but were nice. During the day you can walk into Oistens. Lots of fried fish and chicken, but everything taste like fish. We went into Oistens a couple times during the night and did not feel very safe. In Oistens, even during the day, locals kept coming up and telling us to 'watch our belongings' or 'be careful'. When we asked if the area was safe for locals, we got wishy washy answers. After numerous locals warning us over a few visits, we avoided Oistens during the evening and spent time in St. Lawrence gap. For the younger people, or the late-night crowd this is definitely where you want to be! Tons of cute restaurants and bars- dancing, sidewalk shopping- and a clear police presence makes it very safe. It was only about a 10-15 minute taxi from the hotel. Very fun! My only complaint about the hotel was the noise above our room. There is a patio above the plunge pool rooms, and every morning at 7-730 the patio furniture would be moved. It woke me up every single morning, and usually I couldn't go back to sleep. For the level of quality (not to mention price!) of the hotel, that was ridiculous to me. I was exhausted coming back from the honeymoon, and for all the wrong reasons! Overall, Little Arches is a spectacular hotel and the staff will make sure you have a wonderful time!

Room Tip: Plunge pool rooms are beautiful, but BEWARE!- the patio furniture on the floor above you is moved ve...
