This is the first review we have written but we were so impressed by the whole team at little arches we just had to let any potential visitors know of our experience and stay with our new family at little arches?
We have recently returned from little arches after three years of trying to book this very popular boutique hotel and I can honestly say it was worth the wait? We wanted to explore the island and mingle with the people whilst still enjoying some comfort and luxury of a classy hotel not stay in an all-inclusive (could be anywhere in the world ) resort and we got all that and more.
when we arrived the welcome was warm and sincere and a cool fruit cocktail accepted even though the taxi ride wasn't even 15 mins from the airport so unlike after most transfers we were not hot and bothered on arrival.
We got to know the general manager Sandra and her reception team made up of Emma,Tara,Cherrise,Nadia all very well and they helped to make our holiday with restaurant reservations and golf tee times to car hire and other helpful local knowledge and literally nothing was too much trouble and they even arranged a night in the hot tub when room 8 was vacant because my wife loved our room 6 by the pool and did not want to move into the other room so they decided to set everything up with cheese and wine in the hot tub (not many hotels would do this with out a charge) hence just one reason this hotel gets great reviews for the excellent service.
We also got to know the other staff and found them all to be very professional and happy at work from the waitering staff in the cafe Luna and housekeeping to the maintenance staff who kindly take the beds to the beach for you.
The other guests at little arches also made our holiday and these were Arthur Earl (Canada) Nadine & Peter(Belguim) Steve & Sue(up minister) Chris & Jill (Newcastle) Nick & Nicky (Brighton) and others that we meet at the welcome parties that Sandra hosts on weds evening to break the ice and just before we left we meet two lovely couples from new jersey shame we did not have long enough to get to socialize with them more but shared dining experiences and car hire and places to see on the island tips.
So all in all we had a great time in Barbados from exploring the island to laying on Miami beach and around the pool and my favourite time was 4pm when it was happy hour and time for cocktails.
For anyone looking to visit Barbados we would recommend a visit to the Harrison caves, Bathsheba, botanic gardens, a drive along the west coast past sandy lane and Royal Westmoreland and up to the highland point to view the east coast and many other little places you can even get lost and the Bajans will help you they are so friendly and welcoming.
For dining we tried oistins over the bank holiday at the fish fry all the outlets smelt good and we loved the surfers cave and the surfers bay where the chef at cafe luna (Moo) plays with his band on sunday night well worth going to hear and champers in rockley is good for formal dining but mostly we preferred to be more informal and in oistins.
Just ask the girls at reception they will help you choose and a finally a big special mention to my email buddy Cherrise for every thing and making our stay special we love you lots ,so a big thank you to Sandra and her team at little arches for making our Barbados holiday number one previously it was the Maldives and Cuba but they have lifted Barbados to the top thank you all.
So in summary if you don't like all inclusive resorts and want to see Barbados and meet the people then there is not a better hotel or location than oistins and little arches to do this from.
The owners introduced herself in the cafe Luna on our last night and we cannot state enough how highly we regard all the staff that work for them,, they truly are a great team and what a lovely little hotel that little arches is, very quiet and individual place unlike all the corporate hotels please keep up the good work as there are many more people like us out there ready to experience this beautiful island and beach at Christchurch.
We will return and we did not just meet people at little arches we meet up with a lovely couple Billy and Sandra from (Ellesmere port) who were stay in St Lawrence gap and we bumped into in them in the green and white absolut bar and spent more evenings dining with them during our stay, and a big thank you to them from Angela for her birthday present and we will keep in contact for sure.
Thank you everybody Tim and Angela
