While walking along the boardwalk in Rockley Beach, we were hoping for something different than the 'impress your friends with a picture of yourself sitting in this restaurant' type of atmosphere.
We were looking for a quaint, romantic setting with impressive taste and a cozy, unpretentious atmosphere (quite different from the boardwalk restaurants). We had given up and took the street back toward our hotel instead of the boardwalk again.
Literally stumbled upon this little jewel in the middle of a rather abandoned looking setting (guess you can't pick your neighbors).
The lighting was warm and inviting, the setting was cozy, almost romantic. The decorating wasn't what I'd put in my house, but was interesting for a visit.
The staff were mature and professional (a far cry from Barbados poorly trained service staff in many locations) and the food was nicely seasoned and spiced. There were candles (or candelabras) on the tables, (a necessity for atmosphere and not asking too much for a pricey island where tourists aree providing the local economy).
Overall, a memorable experience and one which will probably be repeated on future visits, is time intentionally!
