I can no rate this highly enough, the service is outstanding even from the emails on booking to the leaving of the restaurant, it was amazing. Our waiter Joseph was so lovely, he explained the menu to us and was very attentive in a most genuine way which you do not get in many places these days. All the waiters and chefs quite clearly enjoy working there which shows in the service and quality of food. Sushi was unbelievable and the Barracuda was wonderful. It was my husbands birthday and they had dressed the table aswell as bringing him a special dessert! We will definitely be back next time we come to the island, just wish we had come earlier so we could have enjoyed it second time round!

Although we had lovely meals in Barbados (with the exception of Champers) this was definitely one of our favourite restaurants. The magical, romantic setting right by the ocean, how welcome we were made to feel, our helpful charming waiter and the delicious food made it a special evening. It's a shame we didn't have time to go again.....another trip to Barbados called for!!!!
There is a really pretty short walk along the boardwalk separating the restaurant from the ocean.

came here on a thursday evening at around 5pm and the place was just getting ready for service. got a table right away and for a while were the only diners there, which was cool. the location and the view from the patio were awesome aswell.

took some drinks to start the night off. the lady got PURPLE HAZE, and myself took a sake mojito. both drinks were very good. we got some fried/puffed? wonton skins and soy sauce as a snack, and boy were we happy.

then was time for the appetizers. we chose the cold cucumber & ginger soup and the wok tossed chicken wings with chili-garlic glaze.

the soups presentation was great, and it was very tasty and refreshing too! nothing bad to say about this. a good and light appetizer.

the chicken wings were sweet and sour and salty and all in all just what i was expecting from "asian style" chickenwings. nicely cooked and the fried leek/scallion garnish (that was also used in the other main course) was a nice addition too.

as main courses we chose the macademia nut crusted catch of the day, and the marinated yellow fin tuna.

the catch of the day was barracuda, and the fish was cooked perfectly. jasmine rice and the spicy coconut and ginger emulsion was very tasty. only downside was that there wasn't enough sauce to go with the big chunk of fish, so the last few bites were left sauceless. a small minus for an overall nicely executed dish.

the marinated tuna came with bok choy, garlic mashed potatoes with hoisin & tamarind vinaigrette. some fresh herbs (cilantro) and scallions also present. i never thought that mashed potatoes would go so well with tuna! the vinaigrettes were also very good, hoisin is one of my favourite sauces and the tamarind complimented it awesomely. i would've added just a pinch of salt (or soy sauce) to the fish and a bit stronger garlic on the mash, but thats just me and i like my food salty and garlicy. overall a great dish.

as desserts we took the special of the day, which was chocolate brownie with icecream and the cinnamon dusted mini donuts. both of the desserts were pretty huge (couldn't finish ours) and tasty. so if you're a bit short on cash you can easily share and be happy.

all in all a great evening with good food, awesome view & atmosphere, and great service.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Naru during our recent holiday in Barbados. It is well situated by the sea although we sat inside the restaurant. It is comfortable, roomy and it was good to watch the staff at work in the kitchen.
The staff were excellent. We were warmly welcomed and the menu was helpfully explained to us. They were appropriately attentive during the meal and I watched a member of staff prepare a table for the next guests and he was so precise and careful. Staff training was clearly effective.
The choice of food was excellent and I enjoyed barracuda beautifully cooked. There was a suitable selection of wine too.
I can recommend Naru for those on holiday in Barbados especially as the staff were so good, the price was competitive compared to other high quality restaurants on the Island and the food was excellent. We would have booked for another evening had we not had to return home!

We were happy with our meal. We had a mix plate of sushi witch was realöly superb and then catch of the day (Barracuda) and japanese style steak for main course. Both were really nice. Friendly and attentive staff.
