“Fun atmosphere!”
Reviewed March 2, 2012

This is a casual, outdoor seating restaurant and bar on the beach. Mostly filled with families, surfers, kiteboarders and windsurfers. The atmosphere is fun and laid back. Sometimes a campfire is lit down by the beach at night. This place can get very crowded - we ended up sharing a table with another couple and there isn’t much parking. The food is great offering dinners of fresh grilled fish, peas, rice, macaroni, salad and a few other things on the menu. The bar is fully stocked. My only complaint is about the bar tender we had the night we were there. He had a real attitude problem and didn't want to give you his time at all. It was as if he was purposely trying to ignore you for as long as he could. And when we did finally get his attention, he was very short with us and snotty. Very surprising to us for the type of place that it was. Oh... and they don’t accept credit cards which considering the price of the meals is surprising. Any other restaurant in Barbados with similar prices would accept credit cards. But despite that and the bar tender, this place is definitely worth checking out.

“A proper surfer's hangout”
Reviewed February 29, 2012

This beach bar is isolated and difficult to find, therefore you can come here to escape the tourist crowds. Lovely grounds for a walk along the beach, watching the wind and kite surfers. Sunset is great here. The food isn't amazing (ie burger/chicken and chips). Barbados however, is full of posh/fine dining restaurants so this place is great for a casual meal with wonderful views.

“Cool surfers vibe, very Gidget and Moondoggie”
Reviewed February 5, 2012

Read about Surfer's Bay before my annual trip to Barbados and was happy to check it out last Sunday. Hard to find spot, not on any map, however it's near Silver Sands Resort. Take a taxi or your own vehicle as it's a walk through darkened roads off the bus route, but worth the effort. Gorgeous view right on the water with waves rolling in, close to the beam of the nearby lighthouse, roaring fire on the beach to sit and relax by, picnic tables outside, tables and chairs in the open air restaurant. Live acoustic band playing crowd favorites under thatched roof beach hut. Great music, fun and friendly people from all over the world. We didn't eat there, but the menu looked good and inexpensive. For an off the beaten path of all things Barbados, this spot is not to be missed!!!

“Value for money”
Reviewed January 20, 2012

Stumbled across SB whilst walking up the beach one arvo with my wife, popped in for a beer & started chatting to the owner (a Spurs fan). Told us they do a meal for about 10 barb dollars every night..... Sounds like a plan!
Returned later and food was great - had a few more beers, a couple of rum punches & finished with a shot of some sort of moonshine which knocked my socks off even though I was wearing any (we were in the caribbean after all)
One of the bar tenders has a sub or a boat so ask around!
Brilliant place, brilliant food, brilliant atmosphere, brilliant island!

“What a spot!”

Surfer's Bay is a gem. Right on the coast in a shack style, it offers great food, a fantastic atmosphere and wonderful staff like Steve and Jody. A "don't miss" when in Barbados
