We visited this place after seeing that it was highly recommended in a travel book, and seeing multiple advertisements for it.
The setting was very romantic - the deck is right on the beach in a quiet bay.
Other than that, Bellini's is nothing special. For the amount of money we paid ($100 USD total for a 3-course meal for 2 people and 2 sodas for each person, + 20% tip), I would expect slightly better service than I would at Chefette (the local fast food joint), but no such luck. Our waitress was pretty disinterested in us. She wasn't mean - she just didn't treat us the way we are used to be treated in an upscale restaurant.
The food was fine, but it wasn't worth the money. I had a salad, swordfish with fresh salsa, veggies, and potatoes. My boyfriend had a salad, coconut crusted chicken with veggies and potatoes, and we both had dessert. If I paid $100 in the United States to eat at a place with such sub-par service and mediocre food, I'd be outraged. In Barbados, I think it's kind of expected.
This experience at Bellini's uninspired us to eat at anymore of Barbados' "fancy" restaurants, and we've just been going to more reasonably-priced restaurants, which offer comparable service and food quality for half the price.
I will end on a good note. In the United States, I often feel like servers are pushing you along with your meal, bringing out main courses before you've even taken a bite of the appetizer, but this place was laid back and let us take our time. Of course, there were only a few other parties in the whole restaurant when we were there, and everyone in Barbados seems to be on "Island Time", so no surprise there.
