Barbados Beach Club

Barbados is the island to go for after a long and miserable English winter. Set off in the cold, and arrive 7-8 hours later, then step off the plane to a warm wind which stays with you night and day and sunlight!
Travelled from Manchester with Virgin on an all inclusive holiday upgraded to Premium economy for the leg room. Flight was excellent as was the service
Transfer to the Hotel from the airport is all laid on but involves a lot of people so would take my own Taxi next time (after negotiating the price first)
Hotel had friendly staff, very good food (not cordon bleu and buffet style),use of upstairs restaurant twice a week,
The Superior room with balcony and sea view was clean comfortable and had quiet air
conditioning which is essential .
Has a small Gym .
A concierge service that lent us a coffee machine as not supplied in our room
Shuttle bus into Bridgetown.
Helpful Virgin rep came daily and sorted out trips and problems.
Beach soft sand but Waves strongish as Hotel on south coast close to Oistins.
Entertainment every night finishes at 11pm .
Bar open 10am-11pm and VGFM if on an all inclusive holiday.
Lots of sun loungers Great place to relax.
Spa service in Next door hotel( Bougainvillea resort) available
Not a 5 star hotel but certainly 5 star service and better than some 4 stars I have been to
Only irritation Have to wear a hospital inmate type arm band to identify that you are all inclusive (small price to pay)
Priced up what it would cost to book a self catering holiday with food and wine for 2 weeks and couldn't get near the price of the all inclusive

Room Tip: didn't hear any complaints abut the rooms but the superior rooms were bigger and comfortable se...

Stayed for 2 weeks in March and incorporated the 3 x T20 cricket matches in the stay, along with lots of other cricket fans. Hotel is lovely - situated on the beach, which was never crowded and very clean. Food was really good - especially the steak night on a Tuesday, steak was tasty and cooked to perfection! Ate in the A La Carte restaurant twice which was also lovely.
The rooms were large with satellite TV and air con and very comfy beds. They were cleaned each day and we had fresh towels daily, no fault found with the cleaning staff - very trustworthy!
The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly. Only negative comment I have is the long wait at the pool bar at busy times when only 1 barstaff was on duty, but the white rum was worth the wait!!
Evening entertainment was quite good most nights and we danced the night away quite a few times.
Great location on the beach and situated between Oistins (great on a Friday night), and St Lawrence Gap. A short walk up the road to catch the bus or reggae buses which were very frequent and quite an experience. Charlie's Bar was on the main road - also well worth a visit!
Please don't expect a 5 star, but it's an above average 3 star. We would definitely return to the BBC - it was my partner's second time there and he wasn't disappointed and neither was I.

This place really isn't too bad ! Its not plush and its seen better days but in the end you get what you pay for. The food is ok not cordon bleu ... Edible and tasty a lot of the time ! The breakfast probably the best. The staff seem a bit down trodden .. Apart from the guy who sorts out the beach equipment they are a bit miserable ! Must be fed up of seeing us holiday makers having fun ! The location is perfect for oistins and the gap ! Walk along the beach to get to the gap quickly and nip through the dover hotel. Would I stay here again ? Yes I would .. If funds allowed a plusher place I would defo go elsewhere.

Stayed head to watch England Cricket Team play West Indies in 3 T20 games from 6 March to 14th. Room on 6th floor gave 2 views over Atlantic Ocean and pool/bar area with balcony table and 2 chairs.
Very nice accommodation and the food and drink well above many all inclusives. Staff were very helpful and enthusiastic.
Highly recommended.

Room Tip: 7 floors. lifts efficient. couldn't say it makes any difference where you choose your room.

Just returned from 18 nights at Barbados Beach Club. It was our 1st stay at this Hotel having travelled to Barbados for the last 12 years.
The Hotel might not appear to be the most plush but its what goes on inside that counts!
The Hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms are large & airy with very comfortable beds.
The restaurant serves very good quality food, maybe not displayed with the greatest flair but always a good choice.
The staff & management will always do there best to accommodate any requests, for example we asked for a kettle & tea cups which were delivered to our room promptly.
All in all excellent value for money in a beautiful location.
Can't ask for more!

First of all I would just like to say, to people who go out to Barbados and expect this hotel to be five star accommodation and then complain because it's 'not up to your standards' and then to write that the hotel is 'terrible', in my opinion you would be completely wrong. Because me and my family felt that this hotel was more than adequate for the money we payed for a two week holiday to a beautiful island.

Granted, the hotel needs a lick of paint and is a tad run down and not as modern as other hotels in Barbados and the price reflects that, so if you're only paying for 3* accommodation but are expecting 5* accommodation then may I make two suggestions, 1) Save more pennies until you can afford to book for 5* accommodation, or 2) Simply don't visit Barbados as you're probably already aware, that it's a very beautiful, but very expensive island to visit.

This hotel was in the perfect location and only a 20 minute walk to St Lawrence Gap and Oistins or 20 Barbados dollar in a taxi. I felt the staff were friendly, attentive and very helpful, to say the least.

The hotel is right on the beach, what always had plenty of sunbeds to go around. The hotel also offered free boogie boards, and canoes to anyone who wanted to add a bit of adventure to their holiday. Wi-Fi is easily accessible and can be used in reception and by the poolside. As we were on the second floor I could still access the Wi-Fi, so that was a bonus for me and my brother!

The room what I shared with my brother had two double beds and a view of the sea, pool, bar, and the restaurant. The room was dated, and had a old style telly, but it was remarkably clean and decorated nicely. The beds were also relatively comfortable. Luckily, we never suffered from not having warm water. The bathroom was clean and the water was hot, the only complaint was that the toilet was behind the door but we got used to it.

Fair enough, there wasn't a huge variety of food to choose from. But let's put it this way, I never went hungry and I like my food a lot. I personally felt that lunch was the best service as it included chips, fried fish, soup and a variety of salads. The one negative comment I have to say about the food is that on quite a few occasions there wouldn't be enough food to go around - mainly desserts. They would put out one tray of profiteroles or chocolate pudding and that would be it and it wouldn't be replaced, even when you did ask the staff. So, if you are planning to try some of the desserts, I would advice going to the restaurant as soon as it opens or grabbing some desserts quickly, while it's still on offer. Also, you can ask the waitresses for ice cream for dessert. They don't have any ice cream out on the counter for you to help yourself but if you ask, they offer vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice cream to choose from.

There wasn't tons of entertainment at the hotel, what was to be expected as it isn't a family/children orientated complex. But with an array of a DJ, live band, cabaret show and a steel drum band, it was more than ample. There were also plenty of other places to go and see during the evening/night (e.g. Fish Fry-Day, St Lawrence Gap etc).

Fish Fry-Day is a very popular event what occurs every Friday evening and goes on until late at night. There is loads of street food, and bars to get your drink and food from. Along with a big stage, with loud music, and street dancing and ballroom dancing. It is a really good night, and me and my family thoroughly enjoyed everything about it, including the mix of locals and tourists, street food and the atmosphere.

As we flew with Thomson, we had a rep named Debra, who was such a lovely, helpful women and she had a mixed concoction of trips for us to choose from. We booked one trip called 'Harbor Lights', and I would definitely recommend anyone to go. It is suitable for all ages, you get drinks and food included, and an astonishing floor show (Including men on stilts, steel band, live singers, limbo dancers and so much more!). We also hired a car for two days but I must shed my advice and say don't book for two days. As Barbados is fairly small, one whole day is more than enough, to look around the whole island and see all the beautiful sites Barbados has to offer.

The entertainment finished at 11, and the hotel bar closed at 11:45 - 12:00. The bar offered a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails and drinks to choose from. There is also an a la carte restaurant at the hotel what you can eat at, what's open Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You just simply make a reservation at reception. But if you are planning to eat at the a la carte restaurant make sure you bring trousers or jeans. Because otherwise they will not let you in. Me, my brother and dad got turned away and had to change, so make sure you bring a pair of long trousers. After you do get in the restaurant, the waitresses are lovely and the starters were sublime, the main was exquisite and dessert was to die for. Without a shadow of a doubt, I would recommend in eating at this restaurant.

Overall, a really enjoyable holiday, good value for money and I would recommend this great 3* resort to anyone.
