Barbados Beach Club
Reviewed January 20, 2014

I have been staying at the Barbados Beach Club for the past 6 six years and I have to say that these people have become my family. The staff always remember me and welcome me back. I find most of them to be warm and accommodating. The food is spot on every time! I met the chef last year and I must say that she's a hard working gal. It's a clean and friendly place in a fantastic location. These negative reviews are BS. You guys can do what you want, I'll be back next year!

Room Tip: Choose a high floor room, the view is top notch.

I honeymooned at the Barbados Beach Club recently and after a bit of hesitation from reading some negative comments I must say that my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Our flight came in around 7am, and I \\we knew that check-in was around 3pm so I emailed a few months in advance to see if anything could be done for us. The person who replied said that she would make a note of it on file but couldn't guarantee anything. On arrival, the front desk clerk (forgot her name!) greeted us by name! She let us go up to our impeccably cleaned room early, even though she politely told us that we could not have any meals etc. until 3pm... (which we guessed would happen so we bought sandwiches at the airport).

The rooms were always cleaned and towels always replaced. We were even surprised with a complimentary bottle of wine the next morning. The food was excellent, although I would have preferred more variety at breakfast. The sea looked a bit rough so we didn't venture in. The entertainment was very good as well. Staff were generally very kind and accommodating- one guy even lent us a few Barbadian dollars to visit the drug store one night since we only had $100US bills. And the island was very safe for that late night trip we made on our own. (Although being of African descent probably helped us to fit in... just saying).
On all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an affordable and fun vacation!

stayed here for two weeks over the xmas period, according to the brouchere it was a 3 star. NEVER. food......limited choice..salads consist of lettuce..tomato ? no....onion ?..no cucumber ?...no..just lettuce. drinks only local brands, and limited at that. 1 choice in beer 1 choice in rum..2 choices in daqueri..all served S L O W L Y by un-smiling bar staff. but that counts for most of the staff, exept steve who handles the beach towels...umbrellas etc..he cant do enough for you. pool......in shade until 12 noon, so the beach ? gets crowded well 15 people on it seems crowded. true the rooms are kept clean and tidy and that's the best part. hot water ? hit and miss, water itself just about dribbles out of shower and taps. all in all a 2 star hotel pretending to be a 3.

Room Tip: towards the end of our stay ( last day ) the balcony started to crumble, so cant really recommend a...

Knowing this hotel is only a 2/3 star hotel I wasn't expecting too much. The food was average, the rooms were clean, the staff have been very polite and accommodating although the concierge lady (Juliet) was constantly bugging us on various things, we vowed not to book anything else through her as it was a lot more expensive than booking by ourselves, she is constantly trying to be over friendly which was actually very annoying, we found ourselves trying to avoid her as much as we could, as each time she saw us she kept coming over to interfere.

We arrived on boxing day and was met by a rather sullen young lady on the reception. Our room was not the best,we had no key initially and there was a musty smell upon entering the room. After complaining we were given the cleaners key which meant our room was only cleaned if we happened to be there when the cleaner called but in general rooms are cleaned to a good standard.Rooms are basic but then this is a bog standard 3* hotel, food was of good quality and the bar well stocked with beer, spirits and whatever cocktails you wish. Most of the staff were very accomadating, especially in both bar and restuarant but it's the beach that really makes the difference here.
We would most probably return but would make sure we booked a better room.

The hotel was everything we expected, or maybe even more, our room was towards the sunset and pool –the view was most beautiful. Staff were without exception friendly at all times, room was clean, hot water, air conditioning was working, all was good.
In the hotel was only one bar, the pool bar, also restaurant use this bar, only the Dinner wine was in the restaurant, but it was very cheap, not at all for our taste.
Restaurant was not so good, food was the same every day, only one green salad –very basic, very poor fruits.
story of its own was the flying birds all over at the dining area, if you left the dish to pick up something, you find a bird dining on your plate. I saw the attempts of Sandra to keep the birds outside of the restaurant, but she was alone with this issue, first week was awful, maybe my comment or not but they renewed the net around the restaurant and it works, after that the dining area was free of birds.
The hotel has also an à la carte restaurant, which is open three days per week, during two weeks we dine once, food was ok, but the interior was more like a hospital cafeteria.

Room Tip: rooms at western part and sunset side, higher floors has better view.
