Just came back from The Cliff with mixed feelings. The restaurant looks beautiful and the stuff is quite friendly and attentive. The décor is nice and the view from table by the water we got was excellent. Got to see stingray fish too. Vine list is quite large, but there are very few reasonable vines for under 100 BBD per bottle. We tried Pinot Gris from Oregon 2011 (100 BBD or so) - it was not good at all - way too young - nothing compared to Alsacian Pinot Gris we had in Tides for 96 BBD. The menu prices are kind of fixed to 245 BBD per two course; I had a Tai salad with beef and Cajun swordfish. Both were ok, but made me think, whether I would ever pay $60 US per salad anywhere else?!
I liked there coffee a lot and has a very fine rum in the end. The end of the story is 930 BBD or so bill for the 3 of us. It is not uncommon to pay 200 BBD per person for a dinner in Barbados, but this one was beyond my comprehension. Although it was fine experience, I will never come back just because of the price.
