We stayed at the Club for 8 nights in a superior ocean front room which was large and well appointed. Superior ocean front rooms however do not have a balcony as apposed to garden front rooms which all have a balconies. Breakfast and lunch were buffets (lots of choice and fresh fish available daily for lunch) - the evening meals varied from a buffet to a choice from a menu. There are two restaurants ( the food was good in both restaurants). There is a large restaurant on the ground floor by the beach and a small upstairs restaurant (Enids) that serves only Caribbean food ( the menu is the same every night in this restaurant - the food is hot and spicy. Because Enids is a small restaurant seating maybe up to 40 people, it is best to book ahead. The staff at the hotel were uniformly helpful and very friendly. There was live music every night that you could dance to. The Gym has two treadmills, weights and many other exercise machines and looks very modern. The beach in front of the hotel is small and is only exposed mid to low tide. However, if you walk north about 100 meters you will be on a nice sandy beach that has good swimming and snorkelling. The best snorkelling is just over a wreck (a barge) about 150 feet from the shore. There are schools of fish and we also saw turtles. If you continue to walk north, you can walk for miles. You can also walk south at mid to low tide and you can walk as far as the Crystal Cove Hotel (a little wading is required). If you like to run for exercise, you can run around the perimeter road of the Sandy Lane Golf Course. To access the golf course, you turn right at the front of the hotel and take the first left (about a 100 meters). Walk up the hill and you will come to the Sandy Lane Golf course on your right. I passed runners and walkers every day I ran but never saw a vehicle on the perimeter road.

Room Tip: If you want a seafront room with a balcony, you have to ask for a suite (sitting room with one bedro...

We have just spent xmas and new year at the club our 14th visit to the same hotel - always found it value for money. This is a Bajan hotel on a Caribbean island not 5* luxury - if you want that walk up the beach to Sandy Lane.
Elite hotels have done a lot of improvements- these are on -going-The beach area is much improved could do with some more beach umbrellas for sitting at Lunch time -The pool is clean and tidy I swam every morning and the guys cleaning the pools always courteous and polite as were the gardeners -
Management and staff are always ready to help- nothing is too much trouble-
Joerg and his team are always ready to listen to your comments and do all they can to rectify if there is a problem
The receptionists under Gillian Griffiths are always ready to help day or night.
The restaurant staff under Sophia are all stars - always make you welcome and look after you .

I had my 70 th birthday on Jan 1st - and every one from management down could not do enough to make my day memorable - to say it went on all day - with a special breakfast/ lunch on the beach and then a surprise dinner for 12 in the marquee ( still up from new years Eve) it was a birthday to remember.
We had 2 trips with Amir which were very informative - being as we had seen all of the sites before it was well worth seeing again.

the holiday and the island is what you make it - we will be back again at the end of the year for lots more fun and sunshine.

You couldn't ask for more friendly and accommodating staff. Denelle and Paula were wonderful, Richard and Jade ever so polite and all the staff at the beach bar had great smiles and wonderful personalities and Heather from the kitchen had the most endearing smile. The room was fine with a nicely updated bathroom and the resort location perfect! More up beat evening activities may have kept me on the resort in the evenings but with Bajan lifestyle entertainment was only a short walk to Holetown or a cheap bus ride into another town where entertainment and nightlife abounds. expecting to be on the beach I was disappointed upon arrival to find that the sandy beaches were just next door on each side of the resort but the views are amazing and I didn't mind a two minute walk to sand. The water sports staff on the resort and the vendors working independently were always up for a laugh. A great place for your visit to the west coast overall.

Room Tip: rooms away from the main road are much quieter as the main road is a very busy one and the traffic s...

Just got back from a seven day stay so let me do this review in two phases:
Pros: It is on a Caribbean Island with the ocean only steps from any room, what more can you ask for!
The view from the oceanfront rooms are wonderful and spectacular!
The food was great and no matter breakfast, lunch, or dinner you will always have a wonderful menu and buffets.
Very relaxing and many opportunities for rest.
Within a few minutes walk either direction there are some great beaches for your use.

Cons: The cost of transportation if provided by the hotel as opposed to taking public transportation. For instance the Friday night at Oistin's Bay fish fry was $50us dollars per person not including food. Public transportation was safe and reliable for $2us roundtrip and food was $15us average per person.
Lack of activities on the resort. For instance the pool closes at 6 in the evening. There is entertainment every evening but it is just music.
For an all inclusive resort you would expect pool side service for drinks and food. The only service offered was someone to pick up empty glasses.
The picture used on the website is not a fair representation of shopping in Bridgetown. The staff even remarked, "it doesn't look like that!"
The housekeeping could be improved. It was not up to US standards in cleanliness. 2 towels, 2 washcloths, and two hand towels are your allotment for the room. That was what we started with and three out of seven days I had to call the front desk to get washcloths and/or towels that were left out. Two days they failed to leave washcloths at all and we gave up.
The "Free in room Wi-Fi" is spotty at best. some days we had nothing and struggled to keep a signal on others.
The satellite TV is six-ten channels so don't expect much.
You will find out very quickly that lounge chairs come at a premium. You must get up early in the morning around six to save a seat for the day. People are allowed to save seats all day and many times they go unused or rarely used.

Overall the resort is acceptable, but not outstanding. The staff are very friendly and try to accommodate. The resort shows its age and definitely needs some updating. If you are looking for a place to go to just rest and relax, then this resort would be idea. If you have a more active lifestyle, you may want to think twice before booking.

Room Tip: Oceanfront and sleep with the windows open and the curtains pulled! Nothing like sleeping with the o...

Dear Valued Guests,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us about your recent stay at The Club Barbados. We are glad that you enjoyed the views, accommodations and cuisine.

The Club offers a wide variety activities including waterskiing, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, boat rides, reef fishing tennis not to mention our pools.

Since Elite Island Resorts took over management almost two years ago the Club has enjoyed myriad upgrades ranging from lobby, restaurant and lounge renovations, new gift shop, all new sports equipment, new sun loungers, new awnings and patios on courtyard ground floor rooms for further enjoyment of the outside environment as well as fresh paint on all exteriors and inside guest rooms. We are also in the process installing new soft furnishings and bedding in all guest rooms for a fresh bright new look.

We host hundreds of guests every week who overwhelmingly enjoy all aspects of the hotel especially our gracious and hospitable staff.

We do hope when considering a sun and fun-filled Caribbean vacation we can welcome you again.

I don't think I have enough space to go into detail about this hotel, so in short I will just say, anyone who misses out on going on holiday here will regret it! We had a 2 week holiday here end of November 2013 and I can't say enough good things. But what struck me was that this hotel had repeat visitors year after year and the staff greeted them like old friends that alone says a lot. Location great, food great manicured lawns, clean & friendly staff what else do you need!!! although our room was large and on the top floor the bathroom was tired but I believe these renovations are taking place this year, but this is the only negative I could find. I was very impressed with the free water sport facilities especially the boat rides! And the patience Ross & Charlie have with novices with water skiing is a credit to them. Yep you might guess we have booked to go back in May - we are hoping to be one of those frequent visitors!!!!!

Rooms excellent, but the bathrooms could do with updating. Staff extremely helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food very plentiful and the a la carte menus very good. This was our 3rd visit and the changes so far with the new management are very good. Would be nice to have some umbrellas on the beach and round the pool to shelter from the sun as it is very difficult to find enough shade under the trees. The beach expansion is excellent enabling us to swim in the sea. The evening entertainment could be more varied. The limbo dancer was first class. A most enjoyable holiday, and we hope to return next year.

Accomodation great, staff absolutely smashing all very friendly and helpful. Food fantastic....I'd go back tomorrow.. :-) if I had to criticise I would say that our room was in need of a little decoration and I do mean LITTLE... As I've said I would go back tomorrow and be happy to stay in the same room that said...

Room Tip: Pay the little extra and get the ocean view. Great for sunset views but away from the gardens where...
