Lovely room with a dangerous bottle of complimentary rum punch when you arrive, very friendly staff and having Daphne's a very good Italian next door helps. The beach rigHt in front is amazing and we felt very well looked altered by the staff as we sunbathed, fruit, ice creams and bottles of chilled water were offered. Only criticism is that breakfast could have been better besides the egg station the other cooked items were a little below par but otherwise no complaints. Do try he surrounding restaurants and do take a drive to the other side of the island.

We just spent a week at the House, booked through Unforgettable Honeymoons, and that's exactly what it was. The taxi driver from the airport told us he loved the view from the front gate through the lobby and out to the sea and so did we. Check-in was quick and informal, seated in an enormous sofa, and accompanied by the first of many rum punches. We were upgraded to an ocean view suite on the third (top) floor. The suite was huge, with two bathrooms, and luxuriously appointed.
We ate a delicious dinner the first night on the hotel terrace by the beach - the food was from Daphne's next door. The missus had done her homework and booked tables well in advance for the rest of the week at some of the nearby restaurants, including the Cliff, Cin Cin, Tides and the Mews. The Cliff is walking distance from the hotel and the rest are a short and inexpensive taxi ride.
We settled into a relaxing routine of breakfast, sunbathing and swimming in the clear blue sea, lunch, siesta, drinks and excellent dinners out.
There are plenty of water sports and excursions that the hotel staff can arrange but we limited ourselves to a boat trip to swim with the turtles and a Friday evening out to the street party at Oistins, both of which were well worth it.
The hotel staff are amazing and looked after us like royalty for the duration of our stay. Special shout-outs to Teddy at the bar and Anthony at the beach.
The beach is right on the doorstep and the hotel provides comfortable sun loungers as well as bottled water, cold face towels and ice cream. Afternoon tea is also a nice touch.
We had rain most days but just a few light showers which were actually refreshing. There was a New Year's party on the beach with fireworks. The next night there was live jazz music at the hotel and one lunchtime there was a pasta-making demonstration and tasting.
Our stay was wonderfully relaxing and we'd have no hesitation going back to the House again.

Room Tip: Book the local restaurants well in advance!

What can I say - fantastic location - right on the beach - great staff especially Agnes, Wade and Anthony - but I can not fault any of them.
Very small, boutique place - rooms were fine - albeit the room service was a bit up and down - adults only - one thing I will say is it did lack a bit of atmosphere - so you had to make your own - which is fine.
Not much going on - but thats why you go to Barbados - the massage was fantastic and the whole experience made me very relaxed - loved it
Pool is small and food was a bit rubbish it is attached to Daphne s which in my view is not right - its needs something for its self and better breakfasts.
The pool is small - but who cares the sea is right next to you - room size was just right - mini bar worked - afternoon tea was a delight - evening canapés rubbish - but who cares

All in all a fantastic holiday - made by the staff and the location not the management who were no where to be seen - just a point that I think should be made

Room Tip: Ocean View - ground floor

Afraid of a potential layoff, I booked a Christmas week stay here, so I'd have something to look forward to in case I was sad and out of work (fortunately, still employed). Stumbled on the hotel on the internet -- didn't want to be in a large, family-oriented resort over the holidays, so its over-18 requirement sounded perfect. The price broke my budget, but my friend and I decided to take the plunge. We were very glad we did! We were met on arrival by one of the roving ambassadors, Chris; we were settled into comfy chairs with rum punches while our luggage was whisked away., and it just got better from there. We saved our complimentary travelers massages for the next day, what a lovely extra that was. It was rainy, so they were done on the deck of a ground floor room, with breezes blowing and the sea just beyond. The staff was so well trained, kind, funny and accommodating. Chris was just fabulous at brainstorming ideas, Anthony was always one step ahead, Andrew and Richard were always there and ready to help -- the list goes on and on. In fact everyone I saw leaving hugged all the staff on their way out -- it's just that kind of place. Our room was lovely, 3rd floor junior suite, ocean facing. Big bathroom, comfy twin beds, nice sitting area and what a view, looking out over the pool onto the beach and ocean. Breakfast was ample, the tea was lovely. You could do nothing or if you had ideas, the ambassadors were ready to help you organize things. Water sports are available just up the beach, and we made use of facilities at other Elegant Hotels (gym at Tamarind next door, and tennis at the Colony Club, a quick reggae bus ride up the road). On the last day, we had a couple of questions regarding our itemized bill; all were cleared up immediately with no fuss. I would go back in a heartbeat, time and budget permitting.

Room Tip: There are street side rooms with extras, like a plunge pool or jacuzzi, but you really need a sea vi...

The House, where we stayed for three nights, is top-rate in all respects. Some think it superior to its even more pricey neighbor Sandy Lane. In contrast, it is very small, adults only and understated. We had a top-floor suite facing the ocean that was perfect, as were the included breakfasts and the afternoon teas. The beach could not be nicer. But the most impressive attribute was the competence of all the staff. Everyone, regardless of their assigned job, considers themselves an "Ambassador" and can take of any request you could have. We couldn't recommend The House more highly!

Wow, a truly wonderful place, an anniversary we will never forget, for all the right reasons. We really want to thank the wonderful staff for making it so special and the great guests we met along the way, it really was like being home from home with lots of luxurious touches and total comfort. We would reiterate some of the other 5* reviews and would say one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and we definitely plan to return.
