“Small, unfussy with a great location”
Reviewed May 31, 2009

Stayed for nine days on a bed and breakfast basis. Extremely pleased with our choice. The hotel is in a fantastic location on Payne's Bay - a great bit of beach with a small reef nearby - recommend borrowing a snorkel from the hotel and watching the fish!

Beach amenities include plenty of sunbeds with shade provided by a huge old Mahogany tree or parasols if required. The pool is clean and a good escape from saltwater.

Although we were using the hotel as a base as opposed to an all encompassing 'resort' I am surprised by other reviews which suggest the staff are unattentive - everywhere we found the staff to be polite, quick and of a singularly sunny dispostion. Happily dealt with last minute car hire and restaurant bookings.

We had a pool view room which was well appointed - big bedroom and bathroom along with a separate (non air-conditioned) living room and balcony.

Food is good without being amazing - we tended to eat at restaurants along the West Coast each night (and can recommend Lone Star, Fishpot and Daphne's). Breakfast was pretty good - buffet style with decent omelette station.

I imagine they get a lot or repeat business.

This is a small, quiet hotel on a nice beach.

Standard rooms are nice with balconies, a living area with a bar and basin , a decent size bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The bathroom was large with two basins and a walk in shower.

Bar and restarant overlook the garden and pool. The food is good without being quite as good as you might have been led to believe. We had exchange dinning with Sandpiper and Coral Reef club and Treausure Beach food didn't lose in comparison. The other two restaurants are more formal. The buffet breakfast did not vary much but was fine.

The garden is small but pleasant with nice trees attracting the birds.

The hotel is on a nice part of Paynes bay although quite narrow immediately outside the hotel. The sea was calm and there was always something happening on the sea as the excursions stop nearby for their swimming with the Turtle trips. It is a nice beach walk up past Sandy Lane.

The immediate vacinity has expensive apartments on the beach with further developments pending. Eating is available at Daphnes, Scarlets, and the Roti Hut but a short trip to Holetown offers shopping and more eating options.

Ideal for a quiet relaxing holiday but in my mid 40s I felt a little young for the hotel.

attention to detail is amazing, the rooms are all big with spacious bathrooms which have recently been renovated. Nothing is a problem. Homely atmosphere - v.personal and v.unlike the other bigger and better known hotels in Barbados. I've never felt so relaxed on holiday - nothing to complain about here.

This was our first rip to Barbados and our best evr in the Caribbean

Treasue Beach is small. select and perfect for a quiet holiday away form the stress of work in England.
The Manager, Hamish Watson, is the perfect "Mine Host" having spent much of his life in the Luxury Hotel market.
The Staff are very professional and helpful and always on hand to assist with any request.
The rooms are all suites and large with separate bedrooms and lounges and extremely beautifully furnished.
The bathrooms are large with both bath and shower
The Beach is small and sandy and fairly quiet
The gardens are beautiful with colours abundant at this time of year
The Restaurant is small (about 70 covers) and the new European Chef has worked wonders and whist we were there outsider diners were unable to get a booking.
The 3 best restaurants in the area and all interchangeable are Coral Reef, Sandpiper and Cobblers Cove- with Treasure Beach just ahead on quality and service

I recommend this to all those wanting a wonderful Holiday in Paradise!

This was our first trip to Barbados (actually our first trip abroad) The holiday was a special treat from our son's for our 30th wedding anniversary. It was fantastic. The hotel is beautiful! We arrived tired and dishevelled, after our first ever flight and the staff met us with a lovely cocktail and showed us to our room were there was a bottle of champagne waiting for us. The room (ocean view) was excellent with a wonderfull view of the ocean, pool and gardens. The bed was comfy and the towels and toiletries in the bathroom were of really good quality. The gardens are beautiful and if you're lucky you'll catch a glimse of the humming birds in the evening as we did. The restaurant is wonderful - breakfast is superb with an excellent choice of food. It really was a very special holiday in a very special place and we would recommend it to everyone.

We shared a similar staff experience to AlecandJune when we stayed at TB late last year. Almost without exception, the staff are preoccupied with their routine and seem to treat the guests as an intrusion. Our 'fridge was empty of ice so I phoned housekeeping for some and was met with “Ice? You want ICE? Can you hold?” A minute later, someone else came on the line and said “Yes?” I repeated my request. She said, “Ice? You got ice in your ‘fridge. I don’t think we got any.” After some further negotiation, she reluctantly agreed to check, and some little time later, our ice bucket was refilled.

We don’t want to appear too critical of the hotel – our ocean view suite was spacious and pristine with a view of the gardens, pool and beach. But having stayed in other West Coast hotels, we know how open and friendly the Bajans can be. We think that Hamish needs to set the example of himself being rather less “invisible”.

The beach, food and rooms at the Treasure Beach are fine. The attitude and behaviour of the staff (with a small number of exceptions) is appalling.

No engagement, no consideration, no concept of customer service.

I do appreciate a more relaxed, unfussy idea of life - but to be ignored with an impervious arrogance was dreadful.

And - in case you think it was just me......it wasn't.

You have a lot to do Hamish.
