We stayed at Sandy Lane in a two bedroom suite back in December 2017 for three days in transit to Canouan (neighbouring island where we spent almost two weeks) and enjoyed our time at the property. We had a great airport transfer to the property with a very friendly driver and check-in at the hotel was smooth and efficient. Nightly music was amazing in quality and the beach location and service is terrific. My husband and my mother BOTH lost their sunglasses one day in the oddly aggressive surf and the security gentleman was so wonderful to recover my mom's very quickly and the front desk staff were very accommodating to requests (great service). The property is very nicely kept, especially in the pool area and common areas and there is a small boutique to pick up necessities up near the spa (we found the woman's boutique in the main building to be quite limited in stock). Food/drinks were good but expensive (not surprising) but we always question what is the value to the cost....we would say that we still thought it was moderately overpriced. Having said that, it is a beautiful property with lovely rooms, great service and nice atmosphere - we will be back.

Room Tip: Two bedroom suite when travelling with family - spacious and nicely appointed.

We came here as a family, and have a mix of teenagers and young kids. We've had an absolutely amazing time, and it will certainly be hard to go back home after this trip!

The pool and beach are both private and really amazing. The hotel provides goggles, snorkels, and towels at no charge, so you could have a great time out on their beautiful shores and see lots of fish.

The food here is quite expensive. Just to give you an idea, a hamburger is $37.50 USD and a personal pizza Margherita pizza is $30.00 USD. These are just run-of-the-mill items, and don't come with caviar or gold flakes. Just an ok burger and an ok pizza. A 14-ounce T-bone steak is $97.50 USD and a 10-ounce tenderloin is $90.00 USD. Of course, on top of these prices you'll have to add your tax and tip. The one saving grace on the food side is that breakfast is included, and is quite good.

If you can absorb the high prices, there's nothing not to like about this resort. The beach is amazing, the staff is remarkably friendly and will know your entire party by name in just a day, the rooms are fantastic, and the beds are arguably the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in.

This has been the nicest vacation we've been on as a family. Sandy Lane Hotel was a perfect choice for us. I'd highly recommend it!

Room Tip: Luxury beach-front rooms are a perfect choice.

Traveled to Barbados with my friend in June 2018. Sandy Lane is the definition of luxury. From the private pick up, walking into the open air oceanfront lobby, room and its view, beach, pool, food, to the private transfer back to the airport - this hotel is incredible. The pictures of Sandy Lane do not do it justice - it is better in person. Our room was a Luxury Ocean room on the 2nd floor with spectacular views of the beach and ocean. The room was very high quality and we couldn't find one flaw.
The staff were very attentive and accommodating.
The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. We had reservations for lunch(or our dinner as we were up very early each day) at the Country Club which was to die for. The views of the golf course made the meal that much more luxurious.
At the Pro Shop I purchased a Green Monkey hat for my father and come to find out only guests of the hotel have the ability to purchase one of these hats which was a very nice touch.
The beach was a good size and very clean. Our beach chairs were in a prime location. The pool was gigantic and has it's own waterfall. A little bit of a walk to get to the pool but well worth it!
Barbados is an amazing island full of wonderful and welcoming people. After being there I can understand why it gets so many repeat guests. I can't wait to come back next year!

Went with family friends for ten day break in June 18. Friends had been coming here for years and kept saying how good Sandy Lane is and they were not wrong. From the moment you are met in a limousine at airport the staff are genuinely there to help you. The check in is welcoming and is done in your room - no waiting in line here! I stayed in the Orchid wing (room 231) and the decor and facilities were superb- especially enjoyed the high powered shower.
All the staff without exception were fantastic and somehow they remembered your name and would chat and you felt a genuine warmth; it was clear that they felt like it was a privilege to look after you during your stay. There was none of the pretentious staff you meet in some luxury hotels. Stephanie in the monkey bar and Steve at the pool were friendly and able to provide advice on things going on around the resort and on the island.
June is out of season but we enjoyed fantastic weather and made use of the super hotel facilities especially the Spa which is out of this world. The restaurants offers mouthwatering menus, the buffet evenings were superb as was the Champagne Reception on the Lower Terrace. Enjoyed our trip to see and swim with turtles on the hotel boat.
Overall it was a resort that exceeded my expectations and is certainly worthy of at least a five star rating. A final thanks to Randall, the General Manager, who always seemed to be available and made the whole experience something to remember.
