just got back from the most fabulous break yet. It is expensive but worth every penny, if you have the money then go, you will not be disappointed. The staff, location, food etc etc, is just fantastic. We really have nothing negative to say, it is just five star all the way, from getting to the airport and being chauffeur driven to the Hotel up until you leave I must say with a heavy heart, the whole experience is just the best.

Room Tip: Any room will be great.

Stayed here for 5 nights in August and what an experience from the fast track through immigration, the limousine to take us to the hotel, the senior management waiting to welcome us. (been told they do this to every single guest) to the personalised chocolates and presents for my young daughters on their beds. There is little you can fault about this place. It is expensive but at £150-200 for dinner with a glass of wine, kids eat free. Lunch is about £60 if you can manage it after the breakfsart It is certainly not exhorbitant! compared with the other restaurants. Ok Cici was better food, Tides was great too and the paintings were fabulous! But come on, this is Sandy Lane. These guys think of everything before you want it! Sure you pay for it. But where else can you be treated like Royalty for $2000 a night for four. Would I go again. You Bet! You can get better value at nearby resorts and we did that for the first week. Sandy lane has a provenance that has everyone cooing! Would I stay at any other resort on my next trip to Barbados? My 6 year and 10 year old daughters have made me promise never to stay anywhere else.......!

Stayed years ago pre reno and now post reno. Just like Black & White diff. New ownership injected the mega millions it needed and hey proof that all you need is MONEY!! Awesome rooms, spa, food, service, Rolls Royce shuttle for us. Everything is so perfect it could be just the BEST HOTEL IN THE WORLD (in fact it is) or at least Pavarotti used to say it was!!!! This is big time bucket list stuff. Beach to die for and service beyond compare. What else can I say - just get on that plane and go NOW!!

Golf facilities are remarkable - the Green Monkey rocks!!

Still need to do battle with the birds though!!!!

Room Tip: Any room is perfect if you can splurge for an upgrade do it..........

Even after an upgrade the room was small and full of reproduction furniture and was surprised that a beach view meant peering between the trees for a small glimpse of ocean. A truly annoying rule is that you can't just sit on a sun lounger because it will probably be booked, which would have been helpful to know before being told you can't sit there as its reserved for the clients entire stay so we ended up two feet from everyone else. The rooms are incredibly cramped with far to much reproduction furniture with stuff on every surface, the whole place is like staying in a country house hotel in the UK but i'm in the carribean. Service is excellent though but the majority of clients seem to be in competition with each other as to how much they've got. Did have an excellent lunch buffet but declined eating here at night as its more expensive than top Michelin restaurants in London. Breakfast was also superb and staff great. We did have a few errors which just got worse and worse, the manager did get involved and sorted everything out with a bottle of champagne and wiping our bar bill for the night. The room was a long way from anything and be careful if the floors are wet as the polished tiles are incredibly ice rink dangerous. All in all not somewhere we would rush back to as thought not great for the price or its reputation.

Sometimes even when you get presented with the best of anything, you always find fault with something along the way. However with Sandy Lane it's pure perfection from the airport pick-up to the low-key check-in followed by the unpacking service that takes all the stress away as you relax into your new environment. The staff are incredibly friendly from the moment you get up in the morning till the end of the evening when drinking in the monkey bar. This place is really faultless.........

As long as your budget allows for this hotel then I strongly suggest you give it a try. Avoid July and August or you are likely to be fighting for a sunbed with half the premier league. Try not to look staggered when you see how much they charge you for a bottle of water. Do not miss the Sunday buffet, it is literally the widest choice of quality food I have ever seen. If you are a golfer, make sure you give the green monkey course a try - once again, try not to choke on the cost of this.

The rooms are fabulous, nicely styled, clean and comtemporary. The balcony is a nice feature with great views of the Ocean.
The service is second to none, all the luxurious treats are there such as ice cold towels, fruit and daily coolers whilst sunbathing. Fluffy towels for sunbathing.
The hotel itself and the decor is stunning. The resturants provide a wide variety of tasty food, nice wines available. The entertainment is enjoyable and better than standard. The staff are there to make you happy.
The location is good, not far away from local shops and resturants.
Nice for families or couples. The Spa is also a nice treat, many treatments available for you or as a couple. Golf course is exellent.
