Been to Barbados before, Nevis, Antigua, Canouan Island, Bahamas twice, and this was the best all round experience of all of them

Luxury Orchid suite, 2 adults and a 16 year old, terrific accommodation

2 x Golf packages and the wife on a spa package, trying to outdo each other over dinner about who had the best day!

Golf

Country Club is a really good holiday course, well laid out and a fair test, unlike some island resort courses which are too tricked up as no room to play with. The old nine is well worth 2 hours of an afternoon, tricky little test but good fun, but the Green Monkey is golfing legend, on the golf package you get 2 rounds on the Country Club for each 5 night period you stay at Sandy Lane, one of which is transferrable to play the Green Monkey, and this is a take your camera golf course, though wet on the times we played it, it was still fantastic, just pips Ocean Club in the Bahama's for all round experience and quality. As an aside I also played Apes Hill which was TPC Sawgrass prices, and a terrific course, but played on my own as nobody around, and a bit of a let down for the cost

Food

We love the St James coast for food, Lone Star, Tides, Daphnes, The Cliff on a Saturday night at a balcony table is one of my all time best meals, Oistins fish fry for the atmosphere on a Friday, Holetown for a couple of beers and a pizza, Lobster Alive, though not fresh in August as out of season

Spa

Sandy Lane spa has to be experienced, wife talked all 3 of us into having a massage and I'm delighted she did, massive amout of space, lots of lovely treatment rooms and relaxation areas, great pool, would probably have done more but the relaxation beds and dressing gowns and the music had me asleep 5 mins after my fantastic massage, and the wife left me alone for an hour to enjoy, awesome

Tips

Sunday Brunch at Sandy Lane, be hungry, it is fantastic
Oistins fish fry on a Friday, rice&pea and macaroni pie
Antipasti at Daphnes
Anything at the Cliff, book early, first come first served on balcony tables
Tides, terrific food and reasonable prices
PADI diving with Malcolm, just ask at any reception, they all know Malcolm!
Carl the taxi man, dial 24 36991 and he never lets you down
The Green Monkey, bearing in mind there is 1 tee time per day for non residents and it is $4,000 to book, and you have to find the other 3 golfers, it is millionaires golf
Become Bajan, you will enjoy it so much more if you "chill", it is not slow service, they just figure you are not in a rush to get anywhere else!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, should be for $3,000 dollars a night!

I have just returned from my 4th visit with my family to the most luxurious resort in all the Caribbean. Once you arrive at the entrance of the hotel you know you have come to a very special place.
You are not met by an individual staff member but rather a team so that every member of the family is taken care of and no one is overlooked. The architecture and its connection to the magnificent beach are truly breathtaking, no design touch is overlooked; from the miles of polished white marble to the welcoming pink beds by the beach that are a signature colour of this wonderful resort.
The rooms are generous in their size and outfitted with huge bathrooms and oversized walk-in closets. Being at Sandy Lane is like returning to a cozy Country Estate with every modern electronic gadget at your fingertips.
The Restaurants of the resort are some of the most fabulous that I have ever tried. Fabulous fresh fish, seafood and meat are offered on the menus of the resort with absolutely sublime desserts.
Coming for the first time or returning, you always feel that you have arrived to the perfect vacation paradise!

This summer we again returned to our Paradise on earth, Sandy Lane at Barbados. This is an experience and holiday giving you pleasure for a life time! The Sandy-facilities, the beach, water sports, restaurants, food, the service in all levels from Management to restaurants, rooms, an unforgetable SPA and training center (Vicky get you in shape on short time!), and not to forget their 3 golf courses, make your stay an unforgetable memory . We had some grandchildren joining (ranging 2-9 years), and due to the kids club, swimming with turtles and a mixed program/ activity, they have also recognized our paradise!
We can not wait and dream to soon come back home to Sandy Lane !!

Room Tip: If you chose the Dolphin Wing, The Seahorse Wing, you will enjoy the sea view, however, the Orchid W...

We recently returned from another visit to Sandy Lane and it was outstanding. The setting, hotel, staff, food, spa and overall service and attention to detail was outstanding. They aim to provide a perfect, stress-free holiday and they do. So relaxing.

Could not recommend it more highly for adults and children. We can't wait to return.

Amazing hotel, fantastic rooms, delicious food, amazing beach and friendly staff.
I loved the rooms, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was huge with a lovely shower, they have thought of everything. I had an Ocean room on the ground floor and loved that it was so close to the beach with direct access from my terrace.
The staff on the beach were very attentive, we took a hobie cat out for a sail which was a perfect way to finish a perfect day.
The food was outstanding with plenty of choice for everyone, far to many delicious desserts to tempt me!
This has to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at, I felt like a princess.

Having stayed at Sandy Lane Hotel 9 years ago and not long after the major refurbishments I was curious to see how things had changed. From the minute we were dropped off at the entrance, we felt so special, it was like stepping into a world of pure luxury where nothing was to much trouble. The staff were very approachable and friendly and genuinely couldn't do enough to help. My GHD's broke during my stay and they even provided me with a pair to use - if that isn't impressive I don't know what is. We had a wonderful few days at Sandy Lane and have to say personally I felt the hotel had a much more relaxed feel about it and the service, food and cocktail party were second to none. I couldn't fault anything at all with my stay other than wishing it was longer.
