“Lovely getaway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2014

Just returned from a week's vacation in paradise! This resort of 88 rooms was perfect for us. The entire staff throughout the resort was friendly, accommodating and genuinely concerned we were enjoying our stay. Everyone greeted you with smiles. We requested a room in the quieter area of the resort, upper level, and were pleasantly upgraded to a full suite with a breathtaking sea view, room 241. The rooms were clean and well kept throughout our stay. Plenty of towels. Several excellent, delicious choices on menus in both restaurants. The gardens are lovely. The architecture of this resort is impressive. Beautiful beaches and pools. Water sports lots of fun activities. Refreshments served on the beach including jellies, drinks, and popsicles. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. Evening entertainment and dancing. All in all Crystal Cove is a superb resort, the staff is what makes it so special.
We will definitely return.

Room Tip: Our room #241, is a roomy suite on the upper level, beautiful sea view, in the quieter area of the r...

On arrival you can't help but be impressed with the beautiful view of the ocean. We were greeted warmly by Olivia the manager who congratulated us on our wedding and presented us with rum punches while we were checked in. As it was our honeymoon we had booked an ocean view room which also included a bottle of sparkling wine and petals on the bed. When we entered the room we did have a lovely view but no wine or petals which was a bit disappointing. Overall the room is nicely presented but it is tired around the edges, especially parts of the bathroom. That evening we had to go back to reception to hand in a form and were asked if we had our wine or petals. That evening, while we were at dinner, the wine as well as a card from the hotel were placed in the room but the petals never did materialise. It would have been nice if both had been present when we first arrived in the room. The beach and pool areas are lovely and really well maintained, as are both restaurants. On our first night we were booked into drifters and a beautiful table was laid out for us, a lovely touch. We ate in drifters more than reflections. We preferred the menu and also the layout, the tables in reflections felt a bit squashed in. Overall the food was very good. The cocktails were great and we especially liked the rum punch and mango colada. We really liked the cave bar and in the evenings there is a lovely terrace to sit on and enjoy the entertainment. We probably won't return as we don't tend to visit the same place twice but we did have an enjoyable stay

Following a St Lucia wedding we flew to Barbados for a weeks honeymoon. I don't think we could have had a better time.

We were upgraded to a suite on arrival compliments of the hotel. 5* service all the way. Beach was beautiful with the perfect design of sunbed.....each one has its own canopy. Stephen does a fantastic job of keeping everyone topped up with cold drinks, ice creams and jellies.

Cocktails expertly mixed. Food was overall good. Please remember to take long trousers for the men to eat in reflections.

Amazing hotel that we will definitely return too.

This was our first trip to Barbados, and our first all inclusive. we arrived late at night, which i would not reccomend. but the next morning the views were beautiful! room was very nice, and big patio with ocean views. Food was just so-so. Not good, not bad. We felt they watered down the alcohol, as did other vacationers. The pools were small but nice. The cave bar that looks so cool in the pic, was really not that great. It seemed old and the bar was messy, seemed it needed to be remodeled. The water taxi was one of our most enjoyable days. we took it to the sister hotel (cannot remember name, but the closest one). This had a beautiful pool bar, and the food was very good. it cost us $150 that day but we didnt mind. We decided we would not do an all inclusive again. We like to get out and try new food and restaurants. Our kids are grown, and it seemed this was much more of a family resort. Overall, we had a great time, and one of the best things about the trip was the service and staff @ crystal cove. Everyone was very helpful and nice to deal with. The concierge was awesome, helping us pick our excursions. we recommend the cool landings cattermeran, the raegae bus, and spend an evening in St Lawrence Gap. Great time! this hotel just not the place for us.

Room Tip: we had 2nd floor corner room near the pool , excellent views.

I am currently staying at Crystal Cove. The hotel in general is very nice, clean, small and intimate. There are two restaurants to dine at, both of which have limited menus and food is average in my opinion. In the main restaurant, Reflections, men are not allowed to wear shorts, they must wear full length jeans or trousers. Drifters, the beach restaurant, is more relaxed and you are able to wear shorts etc.

The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. Cannot do more for you.

My only complaint is, being an all inclusive hotel, I feel I should be able to get food and drink as and when I please, and not be confined to having a drink after 10am when the bar opens. For example, I tried to get a glass of water and a coke at 9.55 am (5 mins before the bar opened) and was told to come back in 5 mins as the bar was not open yet. This is extremely frustrating when I can see the drinks right in front of me and it wouldn't have taken 2 mins to pour these for us. As for the food, there is a lunch service from 12.30 to 2.30 which has quite a lot to choose from but be warned if you turn up any later than this time you have to wait until the afternoon tea at 4.30pm where they serve sandwiches, cakes and other tea time food. They do have a small fridge which is stocked up with ham and cheese or cheese rolls during the day. (Note, these sandwiches are covered in Mayo and there is not much to choose from if you are fussy, like me).

The hotel offers free water sports - including water skiing, rings, banana boat, canoeing, snorkelling etc. You get 2x 10 mins slots per person each day. The man who manages the water sports is excellent, extremely friendly and went out of his way to accommodate us. Jet skis are not included but you can pay to go on these from the local guys on the beach. There is also a great air conditioned gym with lots of cardio and weights , table tennis and tennis courts.

There is also a local free "water taxi" a boat which takes you up the coast and local buses which cost 2dollars to the local town / Bridgetown.

The evening entertainment is good. Nothing bad to say about this. A band or dj every night all of which have been very good- the general evening entertainment / vibe is very relaxed - small candle lit tables by the pool to have a few drinks and listen to music - very intimate and relaxing and the bands finish at 10:30pm.

In general I would recommend Crystal Cove but would like them to be more flexible when it comes to food and drink.

On a separate note I would like to add that we went on a brilliant boat trip with 'Cool Runnings'. A catamaran trip where you get to swim with turtles, snorkel around a ship wreck and are provided with a lovely lunch and all drinks are included. We would highly recommend this trip. Virgin offer a similar trip but I would suggest going with Cool Runnings as this is less packed where they run trips daily as opposed to 2 times a week and the men on the boat go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, try to involve everyone and are clearly very passionate about what they do. By the end of the trip everyone was chatting, dancing and interacting with eachother. A must do!

This was our third year running at crystal cove and every year the hotel just gets better and better. The staff cannot do enough for you making you feel as though you are their only guest and the atmosphere is that of such friendliness you come back to reality with a bump on your return.
The rooms are minimalist yet stunning, the grounds are breathtaking and the food is out of this world.
Never have I been to a hotel anywhere else where the level of standards are so high in every aspect! Perfect for families, couples young and old this hotel truly does have it all!!
Unlike many other resorts, this hotel really does put every guest first!! Amazing work guys can't wait to come back again.

Hi,
Arrived here for a 5 night stay in May 2014. On arrival (early in the morning) the staff made us feel really welcome and made our room available asap.
The room was really clean (junior suite) and the facilities on the beach were fantastic.
The food was excellent and the range of all inclusive drinks was good.

All things considered, this was an excellent place to stay and I'd defaintely consider staying here again in the future.

Room Tip: No need to upgrade to a junior suite, the standard double rooms look great!
