My husband and I stayed at the Crystal Cove in Barbados for our 25th Anniversary during the week of May 31-June 7th, 2013. First impression of the exterior of the hotel was dissapointing from the street view, however once in the renovated lobby we felt better. Greeted with hand towels and drinks and seated in the lobby while the checking in process was handled by staff. Small all-inclusive resort with lovely pools and grounds, right on the beach. We had an ocean-view room which the room was small and needed some minor repairs (chipped bathtub, cracked sink, closet door off its hinges) the king-size bed and linen was lovely. Staff was excellent, always friendly and asking about your wellbeing. Beach is beautiful and beach lounges were very nice. My only wish was if they had a buffet resturant to allow everyone's tastes as one evening the menu was a choice of either: duck, lamb or fish. This resort is VERY quiet with no daytime activities planned, however they offer full watersport activities and limited nighttime entertainment. We planned 4 full day excursions that kept us busy and away from the resort.
Totally recommend hiring a car and driver for a personal tour of the island, lots to see plus going on the catamaran for the snorkeling with the seaturtles.
There are very few all-inclusives on this island and Crystal Cove has been rated as one of the better ones, however compared to other 5-star resorts we have stayed at, this one is tired looking and needs a renovation, they did the lobby with new tiles, furniture and accesories but the rooms are showing their age. Also the exterior of the hotel is painted in Disneyland colours of pink, blue, green and yellows if they just toned all those colours down it would look much better.
If you want a true 5 star, go to the Crane or Sandy Lane.

Thank you for choosing the Crystal Cove to celebrate your 25th wedding anniversary. Congratulations again. We are happy that you enjoyed your time with us.

Our team is our richest asset and we are happy that you were able to experience their professional service and their warm Barbadian hospitality first hand. It is for this reason and several others that our four star hotel is often mistaken for 5 stars. Someday very soon we hope to achieve such ratings.

We apologize that some areas of your room did not meet our usual high standards. You would be pleased to know that we have embarked on a monthly room care project, where we take a number of our rooms out of inventory monthly to update and refresh every component to the very smallest detail. This program seeks to ensure that our rooms are always in excellent condition and welcoming to our guests.

As we cater to various tastes, and most times we offer a choice of buffet or a la carte at lunch time, and at dinner. Please also note for your next visit, that our Chefs are very flexible and are happy to prepare alternative meals for any of our guests at their request.

Thanks for taking the time to offer such valuable feedback; we look forward to the opportunity to celebrate with you again next year.

First time to Crystal Cove and we just loved it.... Where to start...
Met at reception with cocktails and were really made to feel at home.
Rooms were great, we had a lovely sea view (room 345). His and Hers wash basins. Huge bathroom and getting ready area.
Food was tastey, a really big choice as well. Both restaurants were great. 4 course including a soup course. Outdoor restaurant was only buffet a few nights so mostly a la carte. Never had an issue booking a decent time.
Ok, it wasnt fast service at night but your in lovely barbados why do you want to eat your whole meal in 10 minutes???
The water sports were great but you needed to book a day in advance.
Snorkelling was really good.

If I was being really picky I would have loved an area to escape from the heat as it was very humid, maybe some stronger fans in the cave bar.

Staff so friendly and our favorite barman was Sheldon. He is hillarious....
and for the beer drinkers.. ..Banks beer is really good.

We also went to the sister hotels on the free boat. They were ok but just didnt have the atmosphere of Cyrstal Cove so we knew we had made the right choice.

Please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for choosing the Crystal Cove Hotel for your recent holiday in Barbados.

We were delighted to hear you had an enjoyable time at our hotel, and that you enjoyed our cuisine and our local beer, which Sheldon our bartender takes great pride in serving at the perfect temperature.

We look forward to welcoming you back for many more memorable visits.

This was the first time we stayed at a small, all-inclusive resort. We really enjoyed our time here. The food was delicious. The drinks were flowing. The water sports were great, a large selection. I enjoyed the tubing and kayaking. The best part was snorkeling. There was a nice reef just off the beach, and we went swimming there everyday. We even saw a turtle there! If I had any complaints, it would be the formality of having to reserve a table for dinner, even though there was hardly anyone in the restaurant while we ate. The service is quite slow. Definitely don't recommend eating an a la carte lunch - it takes hours! It didn't seem as fun as larger resorts, where they have lots of poolside and beach activities. This hotel was quiet. The staff were very helpful. Be sure to meet bartender Sheldon and ask him for his signature drink - the Sheldon!

We are thrilled that you had such a great time with us, and we are particularly happy that you enjoyed our array of food from our culinary team and the special cocktails served up by our mixologist Sheldon.

We have also taken your comments on board regarding your experience with a la carte service during lunch and we have made a few changes since your visit to upgrade this experience.

Thanks again for your feedback and we look forward to your next visit.

From the minute we arrived at crystal cove nothing was too much trouble. We were met with cocktails and shown to our room. Our room was a one bedroomed suite which was clean and lovely views. Pool towels were provided clean every day. Rooms were cleaned every day and mini bar topped up too. Food was fabulous buffet some nights and table service other nights. Make sure you book the morning before though as the early sitting at 7pm go quick. 2 restaurants one indoors over looking the pool the other outside over looking the beach. During the day the staff would come around the pool and beach offering drinks or fruit or jelly and ice lollies. Snacks are served at 4.30pm (ish) at the beach side location restaurant. It's lovely to see that the dress code is adhered to in the restaurant. The staff were very helpful always ready to go above and beyond. Even when we requested an early breakfast to go fishing before breakfast started they managed to get us something. It does say that you cannot reserve sun beds but my advice would be reserve early morning to get your desired location. The middle pool was ideal for the kids it was the same depth throughout. A truly relaxed holiday we can't wait to return.

Overall the hotel is lovely, tiered pools with waterfalls, right on the beach and the free watersports were a nice touch too. The room we stayed in was nice, the bed was amazing and the view was lovely, but a few little touch ups probably needed at some point but nothing major. Most of the staff were nice, a handful were lovely but some barely cracked a smile, for us at least, however it seemed the people who had been lots of times were very well looked after. One member of staff, young tall guy, worked on the bar can't remember his name, was very rude. He actually shouted at me when I asked for a cocktail that was suppossed to have been the special that day from the previous days cocktail making class, he didn;t know about the cocktail which isn't my fault it's the hotel communication but he should have gone and asked someone not shouted at me in front of other customers at the bar and then when I walked away he was saying nasty things about me to the other guests!! I heard him plus another guest told me exactly what he said afterwards which is the main reason my review has a 3 not a 4 star. The other things that could be improved are: Food - very samey samey at the buffets and too many buffets at night, its only meant to a buffet once a week but had 3 due to staff not turning up on the bank holiday! Also, the beach bar was not open all the time for lunch and dinner as should of been and the activities, like the cocktail making and water aerobics were non exisitent, we had to go and ask at reception for them to put it on and even then the lady who was meant to be doing the aerobics refused to do it as it was 20 minutes after the suppossed start time when we had been waiting the whole time! Lovely location, stunning pool, nice rooms, great beds, watersports included, food average could be improved but main issue we had was with this young guy from the bar (Jay?) and the water areobics lady and too many buffets.

Room Tip: Beware of the Jet Ski peddlers on the beach - will rip you off given half the chance and ask you to steal food for them from the buffets!!

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a review of your recent stay.

Whilst it is great to read your wonderful comments on the resort and the amenities that we offer, it was disappointing to learn about your experience concerning a member of our team.

We can therefore assure you that your complaint will be thoroughly investigated. In addition, continuous training and development for our team is being done to ensure high service levels are maintained.

Regarding your dining experience, we offer our guests a choice of buffet or a la carte service in our two restaurants for lunch and dinner. A change in our dining schedule may occur as a result of prevailing weather conditions, given that our casual seaside restaurant is outdoors.

To add to this, continuous work is being done on our menu selections as we seek to provide the highest quality cuisine to our guests.

Once again, thank you for sharing your feedback. Your comments will help us to evaluate our product to make it much more pleasing to our customers.
