Agree with all of the positive reviews as the rooms were incredibly clean and spacious, the staff extremely accomodating and attentive, and the location could not have been better. Staff arranged everything from groceries to taxis to island tour for us. The food at the on site tiki bar was great. Cocktails at the managers home are a must do. In short, everything about the resort and Barbados itself was incredible. I highly recommend both for couples and families. We will definitely be returning to Beach View Barbados.

All the other trip advisor reviews tell the story which is why we came and we weren't disappointed. Yes, you have to cross the road to get onto the beach, but there is no need to walk up to the more crowded part in front of the hotels, unless you want to swim out to the catamarans and see the turtles. Sit by the pool under the umbrellas for shade and thein nip over to the beach for a fabulous swim.

Beach View/Barbados meant for us minimal bugs, no snakes, no jellyfish, crystal clear water, a safe environment, incredibly friendly locals and great fun on the BD$2-a-ride yellow buses - do not bother hiring a car!

Beware the DVD players are American region only so no good bringing your own commercial DVDs from the UK or elsewhere.

Atticus's included rum punch at the Monday BBQ is heavenly nectar - you may need help getting back to your room afterwards!

Best excursion ever is Cool Runnings Catamaran which you ought to ask Beach View to book for you in advance - see separate reviews. Also the Atlantis subamrine if you want to dive to 150ft to see the local coral reef.

Barbados isn't cheap but for this experience we would definitely return.

We just returned from our first trip to Barbados and the Beach View. We were disappointed to discover that the hotel is not right on the beach and is in fact next to a busy street. We could hear the road noise from our room, but the friendliness of the staff made up for everything. All of the reviews we read prior to booking said how friendly everyone was, but they definitely surpassed our expectations. Natalie and Carrie in the office went out of their way to book a car for us, make dinner reservations, etc. The room was very nice and clean, the grounds are beautiful and the proximity to the shopping and restaurants in Holetown is perfect. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we definitely plan on going back.

my wife and i just returned from our trip to the Bardados and must say we would highly recommend staying at the Beachview. As stated by most posts here, Robin and staff were fantastic. Walking distance to the best restaurants and clean, clean, clean. pool was great, recommend a car rental for day trips. Have Fun...

Please, keep this a secret. Beach View is SERIOUSLY good. My only worry is that it will be discovered and we won’t be able to book in next time (and there definitely WILL be a next time!). All the excellent reviews about Beach View are accurate. There is nothing not to like about this place.

There really are too many lovely things about this place, so here are my top 10 great features of Beach View.

- The apartments are huge and stunning. They are well equipped with modern kitchen and even a washer/drier. They are immaculately clean. Some of the thoughtful touches include a list of recommended taxi drivers, menus for places that deliver food, flowers in the bedroom on arrival and plenty of clothes hangers. The air conditioning in the bedrooms works brilliantly and is very eco-friendly. The wi-fi worked very well and kept us in touch with home. Bring your ipod for the docking station provided.

- The location, right opposite the beach is beautiful. It’s a minute to get the beach and lovely for swimming. We had an uninterrupted view of the sea from our room over the well kept garden. Enjoy the singing and steel drum practice from the church next door. The fish market is one minutes walk away to buy fish for your meal. Watch the fishermen unloading their catch in the afternoons. Take the (loud and exciting) yellow bus from right outside into Holetown for shopping or eating.

- The people are great; friendly and helpful especially Carrie. They are happy to organise restaurant bookings, car hire, advise on other things to do or take your shopping order.

- You can always get a lounger! Arrive at lunch-time after shopping and take your pick.

- It’s right in the centre of the great West coast restaurants, walk to Daphnes or if you fancy the Roti shop. Not far for the Tides, Sandy Lane and a minute from the Cliff.

- Shopping already in our apartment when we arrived. Cold beers all ready in the fridge.

- The cocktail party at the Manager’s own house. This (free!) night was lovely. We felt very privileged to be invited to their beautiful house.

- Only a 10 minute drive to the Kensington oval for watching the cricket.

- Free loan of masks, snorkels, buckets and spades and noodles for swimming. Even mats for use on the sandy beach and a large collection of books if you run out. If you’re having a night in, use the dvd player in your room and choose from the selection of dvds kept at reception. Unfortunately UK versions don’t work in Barbados. How many hotels do you know that are generous like this?
- The on-site snack bar is great. The sandwiches for lunch are just right, and not too expensive. Tasty and quick.

Don’t come to Beach View if you’re looking for a hectic night life. There is virtually no evening entertainment (except the weekly barbeque and cocktail night) so if you’re looking for discos, bands or clubbing, this place is NOT for you.

Don’t come to Beach View if you want total silence. The place looks over the west coast road (as do virtually all the nice hotels in Barbados) and there is road noise. It is NOT a problem, unless you want total silence.

Don’t come to Beach View if you’re looking for an all-inclusive resort with a full compliment of water sports and a massive beach. You can walk up Paynes bay and find jet skis etc but the beach by the hotel is small, quiet and peaceful. You won’t be bothered by lots of sellers on this beach.

Lastly, don’t come to Beach View with all your friends and stop me from booking again next year. Gems like this are rare – please don’t tell your friends.
