“Excellent Stay at Beachview”
Reviewed January 26, 2010

Me, my wife, and daughters ages 3 and 1 stayed at beach view for a week in January in a 2 bedroom, two bath condo. The place was huge and had plenty of space. Because Beachview is just over one year old, everything in the condo was brand new and up to date. It was also extremely clean and housekeeping did a great job while we were there.

The complex is located across the street from the beach and was only about a 1-2 minute walk to the beach. The street you have to cross to get to the beach can be busy at times but we never waited more than about a minute to cross.

We were on the 3rd floor and our favorite place to relax was on the balcony which gave you an incredible view of the ocean. The balcony of every condo faces the ocean . It was wonderful to go out on the balcony and read a book, have a beer, or have dinner.

Beachview was a quick 5 minute cab or bus ride into Holetown where there are plenty of restaurants or places to shop. The only negative comment I would make is that if you are a light sleeper, there is a rooster in close proximity that makes noise throughout the day and night. But once I got used to it, I slept much better. I would highly recommend beachview and would definitely go back again.

We picked the Beach View having seen all the good reviews here on TA. I have to say the reviews were all spot on and we had a wonderful stay. The suites are only a year old, so everything is still fresh and new about them. They have all the mod cons you could need during a stay. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything from a dishwasher to smoothie maker. There is also a washer and dryer. Bedrooms are very tastefully decorated with a/c and ensuite bathroom with bath and shower. All in all we were very comfortable for the 10 days. The only thing missing is a gym.

Any problems, questions or excursion bookings were dealt with by the very helpful Carrie, Tavia and Attitcus. This personal touch was both genuine and appreciated.

We'll be back again with a doubt. I've also suggested Beach View to my sister as it would be perfect for her three kids.

For dinner try :-
The Cliff - very pricey
Daphnes -
Beach something? -next door to the tides - great value
Tides
Our favourite in Speightown - Casariba

Excursions:
Gold at Sandy Lane was fab but pricey
Take the Heatwave catamaran. Great day out and not too crowded.

Stayed here with grown-up family over Christmas. We had a 3 bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor, the spotless accommodation had plenty of room for everyone. We could sit up in bed in the morning and look out at the blue Caribbean! Well equipped kitchen, huge fridge with ice maker. Lovely pool and gardens, great food and service from Atticus and Jess at the hut, he rushed around bringing our lunch to us lounging by the pool. Robin and Carrie at reception always helpful, booking taxis, excursions etc.
Buses are great value, the yellow ones are good fun, you might get off with your ears ringing!
Ate at Daphnes, bit overpriced in our opinion. Had a great meal at Cariba, just up the road and round the corner. Lovely table in the beautifully lit garden. Nice chat at the end of the meal with Glen, the chef, about his time working in Brighton. We thought this was much better value.
All in all a fantastic holiday, we hope to return one day!

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Beach View. Located on the 'Platinum' West Coast, it allows you the same convenient access to Paynes Bay and the beautiful beaches beyond. The waves were uncharacteristically rough but ordinarily the hotel is ideally situated for gentle swimming and snorkelling with turtles. Despite being new, the complex is sympathetically designed with subtle, ambient night lighting. It has an excellent pool for chilling and swimming alike. The grounds are relatively small but pretty and immaculate. The entire complex is kept meticulous with even the sun lounges being cleaned every morning by attentive, thorough staff. The apartment itself was spacious, light and excellently equipped (including washing machine) with beautiful balconies. All the staff are professional but informal and friendly. Carrie in particular was very helpful and informative during the booking process - the pre-order option of groceries was a nice touch especially as we had arrived late. The hut provided a quiet refuge during the day offering low-key healthy breakfasts and simple lunches. The only reason that I could not give the hotel an 'Excellent' rating for location was due to the road that runs in front of the apartments. The design is clever in that you cannot see the road but noise from traffic and the colorful sounds of the Bajan horns are never really far away! There is not a great variety of restaurants within easy walking distance, unless you can afford The Cliff! BUT the busses run regularly and are a great way to explore the local area for $1.50. I recommend the 'yellow' busses for a unique and colorful experience. Daphne's is just along the beach and has great cocktails on the beach (Happy Hour between 5-7!). I would absolutely recommend the Beach View to a friend on the provisor they are aware of the road.

My wife and I with other relatives stayed at Beach View a few days after a cruise on Windstar (which was excellent!). Beach View was a roomy 2-BR, 2bath condo with a superlative view. A/C in bedrooms, breezes in living areas. Limited on-site cafe but close to several restaurants and a small market. Very well equipped room, very clean and tidy, and an outstanding staff to accommodate your needs. super pool and only a 2-min walk to nice beach and good snorkling. We felt very comfortable there.

We stayed for a week at the Beach View and it greatly exceeded our expectations. Carrie took care of everything including a last minute airport taxi booking and rental car arrangements. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a larger unit on the top floor and had a fantastic view of the pool and ocean and spent most evenings relaxing on our large patio (which had an outdoor fan). The unit was bright and airy and cleaned thoroughly every day.

I was concerned about traffic noise knowing that the hotel is close to a road, but they have built a very large wall and rows of gardens so that you are very sheltered and it's not a problem at all. The sound of crashing waves was much louder than any traffic at night. It's also very handy to be able to hop on a bus to take a quick and cheap ride into Holetown or Bridgetown from right in front of the hotel.

From the Beach View, it's about a 5 minute walk to some of the top restaurants on the West Coast. We used the money we'd saved on accomodations to splurge on dinners at the Cliff, Daphne's, Cariba and Scarlet's all of which were a very short walk from our unit.

We were planning to make breakfast and lunch in our unit, but when we arrived we discovered Atticus' snack bar and ended up eating breakfast and lunch there most days. Atticus and his wife Jess make all of their meals from scratch (we especially enjoyed the fantastic granola, jerk chicken and lemonade) and provide a wealth of advice on day trips around the island and restaurants to visit for dinner. We had so much fun visiting with Atticus and other guests at the snack bar that it was hard to leave to go to the pool. This ended up being one of the favourite parts of our stay.

We'll definitely return to the Beach View in the future.

Even before we left the UK the service was fantastic. Carrie did everything she could to help with any queries and as this was our first holiday with our 14 month old it was reassuring to know we were being looked after. The apartment was stunning and as soon as I walked in I was blown away. It was cleaned thoroughly every day and all the staff were lovely. Normally, with self catering you have to buy everything but at Beach View little things like kitchen towel are replenished. These things make a difference. When we arrived we had a welcome pack of water, bread etc which was great after a long flight and before you get chance to go to the shops. We had breakfast included and every morning it was delivered to the room - it was wonderful to sit on the balcony looking out to sea. The pool was lovely and never crowded. Robin, Carrie and all the staff were fantastic and nothing was ever too much trouble. There were lots of little touches that made the service second to none.
If I had anything negative to say it would be more about the location. The beach was next to Beach View but you did have to cross a road to get there. Not a big deal but if you are looking to walk out of your apartment straight on to the beach then you won't find that here. The other slight disadvantage is that there aren't many reasonably priced restaurants within walking distance and the supermarket is a cab ride away so you can be a bit lost without a car. There was no food sold on site when we were there and with a small son we had to cook every night as the lack of proper pavements made it dangerous to walk out at night with a pram. However, neither of these factors spoilt our holiday and for sheer luxury of accommodation and wonderful service this is a great place to stay.
