I visited with three children/young adults 18-20 yrs. Loved the place before we even got there....entertaining ride from airport (organised by the hotel for us). Welcomed by the owner and made to feel at ease. Wonderful relaxed atmosphere and everything we needed; spacious apartment with fantastic sea view. Hilarious Atticus and his BBQ fed us delicious carribean fayre on the first night, so sad he then had the audacity to be on holiday for some of our stay, he was a chef and entertainer all in one! Great way to spend the first evening, no need to shop or go and find a restaurant.
We enjoyed brief times by the pool because with such a beautiful beach over the hedge who wants to sit by the pool? Great walks along the beach, good snorkelling and we swam out to see the turtles (rather than pay to go in a catamaran with 30 others). The hotel staff were very helpful at all times and met each of our (mostly unreasonable) demands. We found a great variety of places to eat in Holetown and the night out to Oisin's is a must. We chartered a fishing boat with the help of the hotel staff, fished and caught our own tuna (apparently not that common so if you do go fishing be prepared to fail) the boat trip was good fun anyway listening to the Captain's tales of his life in Barbados. The fresh tuna was out of this world.
Riding the yellow reggae buses has to be experienced!
This family run hotel does not try to be flash or glam, it is relaxed and honest; Bajan style.
They all made us feel so at home and the owners cocktail party was memorable, best rum punch all holiday. He will give you the recipe if you ask enough! (1 of sour, 2 of sweet, 3 of strong and 4 of weak-it needs a bit of explanation-so yes, you have to go and try it).
Everyone was happy on this holiday and we had to come back because we were becoming over relaxed and too fat!
We booked independently but Virgin fly there too, so go book it!! We want to go back.

Room Tip: Choose sea view it's worth it

This place was so much better than a traditional hotel. Spacious room but large living room and kitchen. All the amenities of home with a great view. Very good service and the owners went out of their way to assist with early check in. Just stayed for a short weekend but will definitely be back.

Just skimming through the reviews, it is clear to see that our fantastic experience was felt by all others who stay here.

Running a big resort and maintaining a personal touch requires a lot of effort and they do it well. The appartments are spacious and beautifully adorned; while containing all the necessary facilities.

The staff are all cureous and friendly - it isn't just the management that care about your stay, everybody does. There are a few nice touches too - basics in the fridge on arrival, a once a week invite to cocktails at Robin's (the owner/manager) place.

Location wise, it is set amongst a small neighbourhood with a few bars/restaurants and a petrol station which doubles as a convenience store. Usefully, it is easy to take the good bus links up/down the coast to get to such as Holetown and Bridgetown.

I think for any first timers to the island who want a great place which is well connected, I would highly recommend Beach View.

For those who've been before, unless you have a particular penchant for another part of the island, then try Beach View next time!

We have only returned from beach view this morning after spending a week celebrating our wedding anniversary.

For us (me especially) its the small things that make a difference, the fact that the owner personally meets you and shows you to your room, he explains everything you need to know about your apartment and the accomdation in general plus has a map showing where to eat and what price bracket its in (you can plan to go upmarket or have a more chilled night). Indeed all the staff permanently wear big smiles, this is a reflection of the owners attitude and it transcends down, everyone will do whatever they can to help you, be it advice on where to eat in a certain area or help finding the best car hire deal for your needs ( we wanted a soft top jeep).

We had the jeep for 3 days, this is about the right amount of time, we visited Bathsheba on the east coast, whilst there we ate at the roundhouse, the food was nice and the views spectacular, the staff were chatty as is the case on the whole island which makes you feel happy at all times.
Its fairly easy to get about, if however you do need directions just ask a local, they are more than willing to point you in the right direction. The beauty of having the car is that you can explore and find yourself on a beach cove all by yourself, take millions of pictures and swim in what feels like your own bay.

The location of the apartment is great, a short bus ride (all journeys are 60 pence) to Holetown for meals at night, 30 second walk to some of the best beaches in the world but also only a 10-15 min bus ride to Bridgetown for some shopping or a big night out on a fri/sat night.

Our apartment was spotless, large with a huge bed and contained everything we required to some days make breakfast when we didnt eat bacon an egg sizzler at the snack hut. On many occasions when we returned from the beach we had a quick dip in the pool, often we had this all to ourselves which was incredible.

The weekly drinks party at the owners house is a must, how many hotel owners would do this! Its a beautiful house and relaxed fun evening chatting with other guests and the owners neighbours.

Some of the beach vendor's offer boat trips to swim with the turtles, as other people have mentioned, the catamaran's are very busy, we opted for the cheaper glass bottom boat with the promise of under water pictures of us with the turtles emailed to us, we were left very disappointed that the boat crew did not have a memory card and also did not swim so couldnt take our picture, if we were to do this trip again ignore the promise of underwater pictures, indeed we would recommend a different beach vendor called spider who is also cheaper. We did thoroughly enjoy the experience never the less.

Restaurant wise we loved Tides, its pricey. But very much worth it for a romantic dinnner, great service and gorgeous food in beautiful surroundings. Mews has a romantic balcony which seemed a great idea however we were disappointed with the food and the service yet it was in a similar price bracket to Tides. The elbow room is fun, you cook your own food on a hot stone, its medium price an informal so shorts are ok. Just grillin is another relaxed option, cheap an plentiful definately one for if your a little tired and want dont want to make any effort getting ready but still want to eat out.

The two questions we always ask ourselves when we do anything or go anywhere are 1, would we go back to beach view? The answer is a huge yes, and 2, would we recommend beach view, again categorically yes.

Before booking beachview i looked at many different locations and many different hotels, I trusted trip advisor and it was spot on, if you want a brilliant holiday go to beach view.

I have always failed to find the time to write reviews on TA despite using it myself to guide my bookings but on this occasion it seemed important to echo the praise of the other views despite the doomed jet lag and serious post-holiday blues!

I will spare you all the details of what to see and do in Barbados as it is down to personal taste but I will be sure to recommend Beach View to anyone who is thinking of taking on a vacation Bajan style.

This is without a doubt the most welcoming and best value accommodation I have stayed in as it offers everything and more you could require from the platinum coast. Yes it is across the road from the beach but it is no more than a 5 minute walk to the same spot you would otherwise pay a lot more money to lie on! Loungers are easily available to rent and are very reasonable once you build a relationship with the locals manning them. It also means that you are more likely to jump in a car or on the excellent buses which stop very close-by and explore some of the numerous spots along the coastline which are far more secluded and offer a little piece of your own paradise! Robin and his family and staff make you feel very welcome throughout your stay and everyone will greet with you with a happy smile and assist you in whichever way they can no matter what time of day. The weekly cocktails at Robin's spectacular house are a very unique and generous touch and one which we enjoyed immensely. The condo's themselves are very spacious, impeccably clean and well appointed. The bed is the biggest I have ever slept (very comfortably) in!! The pool area is also very clean and there are always a lot of loungers available without a mad rush. The hut is perfect for breakfast and will set you up for the day. There are no shortage of fantastic places to eat lunch/dinner within a small radius of Beach View, who will happily assist with reservations and always get you great tables! Alternatively, the local fish market and supermarkets are more than adequate! The security on the site is also excellent and is present 24/7 (not that the area felt unsafe in any way though).

All in all, in my opinion this is definitely the place to stay if you are a family or more independent traveller who is looking to explore and if you prefer a more personal holiday.

We found Beech View to be of an excellent standard with large rooms and good quality fittings. We were greeted by the owner, Robin, who personally took us to our room and explained where everything was situated. Guests are invited to his own home every Thursday for rum punch and snacks which added a very personal touch to our holiday experience. Both he,his daughter and the other staff were extremely helpful when we asked for advice on places to visit, and organised car hire, taxi transport etc. Beach view is situated on the West Coast and although it is adacent to the coastal road we were not at all disturbed by traffic noise which was light in any case (the loudest noise being the Reggie buses as they drive up and down this road!) I would recommend anyone new to Barbados to try the yellow Reggie buses as they cost only 2 Barbados dollars per journey (60p in UK) and are great fun. There is a local petrol station which sells a small amount of food 5 minutes walk away and the main supermarket is 10 minutes by bus in Holetown (which includes some very expensive shops and restuarants but also has some decent cheaper restuarants). Across the road from Beech View is a fish stall which sells fresh fish and we thought was good value. As Beech View is in Paynes Bay this is the location of the turtles. Rather than pay for a boat to take you out to them, wait until the other boats arrive , borrow some snorkels, flippers and noodle floats from Robin, and swim out to the boats (about 50 metres from the shore). The skipper of the other boats have food for the turtles and you can join the other visitors to see and touch the turtles for free (we only saw 3 but still enjoyable) .

We recommend you hire a car to visit the rest of the island (we had one for 3 days which was sufficient) and although road signs are poor, just ask anyone and they can assist. In particular I recommend the following locations:
a) Huntes Gardens - breathtaking and if you are the only visitors as we were, the owner, Anthony, will give you a personal tour. Even non-garden lovers will enjoy the tranquil, tropical garden and Anthony is a wonderful interesting man.
b) The Harrison Cave - good for families with a small electric bus taking you down to the cave. Not the oldest cave in the world but still interesting and worth a vist
c) The East Coast to see the surfers and different scenery

We had a great holiday at Beech View and highly recommend it.

Room Tip: If available request a 2nd or 3rd floor apartment for the best views of the ocean.

We stayed at the apartments for 2 weeks in July this year.
The apartments, the staff and general ambiance of the place are first class. The manager (Robin) and staff are lovely and run a very well functioning yet friendly place. The atmosphere is very relaxed but caring. The Hut, run by Atticus, who serves breakfast and BBQ (Monday evenings) is a big bonus. Atticus is a very informed and entertaining guy who has the inherent ability to talk to all. He is a great source of local knowledge – restaurants, transport, sites to see etc.
The location of the apartment is also a strength being conveniently located for Hole Town and Bridge Town and on the Reggie Bus route (blue buses are also good but less adventurous). Beach is great for swimming with plenty to see.
Other possibly useful advice - we hired a car for 3 days though next time I’d limit to 1-2 days. Good restaurants include Cin Cin, Scarlett’s, Lone Star. Most are OK as regards casual dress (shorts rather than long trousers) with the possible exception of Cin Cin.
Fish BBQ on Friday evenings at Oistens is too large and loud also food inferior to Atticus’s Monday evening BBQ !
Local taxi driver (Tony) can be booked through reception is very good.
We did the swimming with turtle’s trip which gives a good perspective on the island and was a very relaxing way to spend a day.

All-in-all, excellent place and lovely people.
