Description: The stunning open-air beachfront setting of our chic fine dining restaurant is magical. The romantic L'Acajou specialises in light cuisine paired with an impressive range of Old and New World wines. Dining in Barbados under a canopy of mahogany trees with the gentle sounds of the ocean is a very special experience.

I recently had the taster menu with the wine pairing here and I can simply say it was superb and every penny. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and highly recommend it.

Even on a Saturday evening, when things can get a bit crazy for some restaurants on BIM, our dinner was just delightful.....very relaxing in such a beautiful atmosphere. The restaurant itself is beautiful with Bernardaud china, Riedel glassware and Christophe silver service...all very elegant. We opted for the tasting menu which was perfect. When we were considering the tasting menu, we mentioned to our server that we had allergy issues with a crab course and the chef happily substituted a sashimi course. We went with the wine pairing which, while not totally accurate, was certainly very enjoyable. Each course was excellent and the service was formal, but still warm and friendly. You have to pay for this kind of luxury so be ready for the bill. But we have no qualms about going back....we will return!

Food was excellent as was the wine. A great way to spend our last night at Sandy Lane

I didn't know what to expect at Sandy Lane's fine dining restaurant, but I was very pleasantly surprised, not only by the food and service, but by the value....expensive but not overly so. The fixed price menu is bds$225 per person for three courses that also included amuse bouche, pre-desert desert and lovely home made chocolates. The food was stunning and I would recommend the foi gras to start and the tenderloin with caramelised shallots on puff pastry.
The service was very attentive but not over the top. We had Junior looking after us, supported by Terry-Ann and also Jason with the wine. Good humoured banter all evening in a surprisingly relaxed atmosphere. Certainly beats The Cliff hands down in my view.

When we arrived at Sandy Lane, I let the greeter know we were celebrating a wedding anniversary and asked if they could squeeze us in at L'Acajou. Not only did they squeeze us in, they had a special corner table with a view waiting for us. It was decorated with flowers, candles, and strewn with little hearts and words of endearment. What a special treat! The food was excellent and the restaurant has a great and reasonably priced wine list (we had a vintage '96 Domaine Dujac Charmes Cham - very nice surprise!). The staff was also most attentive - they placed mosquito-repelling incense below the table so my wife could enjoy her meal but not be enjoyed as the meal. L'Acajou is a great on-site dining establishment.
