We had received a number of recommendations from friends about the Lone Star so had a good picture of what to expect. We're pleased that it met those expectations.
It's beautifully set, right on the beachfront. Being the weekend, there were local people playing in the sea which gave us some easy entertainment through our meal. A table without a sea view here is totally pointless so its worth checking before you arrive, we got lucky but would have been gutted to have been seated away from the front row.
The staff were friendly and helpful, no complaints at all. The food was excellent but it is more pricey, therefore the quality met expectation. The food is not traditional Bajan, it's much more geared towards expats looking for a taste of home. It is however excellently done and doesn't get marked down for that.
This is a place to be seen, which makes for some interesting people watching. Some people might find some of the clientele rather obnoxious and a bit distasteful but you need to bear in mind that is the market the Lone Star makes its money from. The other diners, mainly expats, who have retired here, were brilliant and made for a good lighthearted atmosphere overall. The table was ours for the afternoon and having a table for three hours made for a really lovely relaxing experience.
