“A wonderful treat on our last day”
Reviewed May 20, 2014

We thought we would treat ourselves to lunch here on our last day. It wasn't cheap but was all you would expect from a world class hotel. We sat on a terrace just yards from the sea and had a lovely meal, served by attentive but very friendly staff.

“Probably a great hotel; don't visit for dinner”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

Had our hotel up the coast (the Fairmont) book a reservation for drinks and dinner at Sandy Lane's Bajan restaurant. Showed up and sat down at the outside "communal" bar only to be told that only hotel guests could actually sit at the bar. Told to go have a seat and we could have table service. Sat at one of the 30 empty tables next to the beach and were then told we couldn't sit there, those tables are also reserved for hotel guests. Couldn't even sit in the tables/chairs behind THOSE tables despite the fact that there were probably 100 tables and maybe five of them were occupied. Escorted to a table behind some shrubs. Explained our disappointment to the guy who took us to the shrub table; he agreed and said that lots of folks complained about the "obnoxious" (his words) policy that the Irish billionaire owners of the hotel insisted upon. I'm the founder of a chain of 15 restaurants in London, I couldn't believe what was going on. Shocking behaviour.

So we told the guy it was the snobbiest place we'd ever been to and left.

Hey, the hotel looks absolutely gorgeous, I'm sure the food is fantastic as well. But when you show up about to spend a few hundred pounds/dollars on dinner you don't expect to be treated like a second class citizen. I heard this place was fairly pompous and snobby; my wife and I live in London, we've been to some snobby places. But this is the snobbiest of all time! Hey, Irish billionaire guys, get over yourselves!

“Stunning hotel”
Reviewed May 10, 2014

Arrived and shown to bar for pre drinks. We sat down came to order Nd we where then told we could not sit where they had shown us to as it was for residents only, so they moved us further inland. I wouldn't have minded if we had not sat down, as you can imagine it was a little embarrassing.
But my daughter was upset by the way we had been treated. They should make sure there staff know where to sit people, then this does not occur again.
The food was ok, but think the bar incident but a damper on the night.

“Sunday lunch”
Reviewed May 4, 2014 via mobile

There is only one place to go in barbados for Sunday lunch. This buffet is fantastic, the range of salads, meats and deserts are what you would expect of a 5 star resort, the service can be erratic, but overall by far the best place to eat relax and enjoy with friends, especially if you enjoy the European Sunday lunch experience. We were a table of 10, who were saying bye til next time... Perfect place to do this. Don't try here if you're on a budget, it might just blow it!

“Sunday Buffet Lunch”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

My wife and I went to celebrate our 18th Wedding annivesary at Bajan Blue. Greeted at the door escorted to the restaurant, taken to be seated at our table all with no fuss or waiting. The wine waiter was great, we ended up having a superb 6 course meal (I think), seafood bar, sushi, salads, cold meets, barbecue lamb chops, suckling pig, roast pork, roast beef and desserts. Mario and his staff were on top form today. Well done to all the staff !!
