“Best fish cakes”
Reviewed February 5, 2014

Simply the best fish cakes on the street. Fish cakes are a traditional and very popular Bajan snack, made of salted cod mixed with flour, baking powder, pepper and herbs, dropped into hot oil until and cooked they puff up, usually served inside a Bajan roll called simply a 'salt bread'.

“Fish cakes - fried morsels of heaven”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

Ok fish cakes are not a healthy option - but like chocolate sometimes you just need something that tastes good - and worry about the calories the next day. So what are fish cakes - well salted cod, flour and backing powder and drop into hot oil. One thing to say is this is a dish that must be eaten minutes after they come out the oil and still hot. For those who like alot of spicy you need to add some pepper sauce.

“Hot, spicy, salty morsels of deepfried goodness.”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

It's my 2nd time in Bim and on our first night we waddled off tired, hot and bothered from the plane to a relaxing nosh of these wonderful fishcakes. They don't serve Banks, but the stall next to them do, so when they want 10 bajan bucks for 4 Banks and it's only 75 cents for a fat ball of deepfried heaven, you jump to it. They Mauby is also delish if you are into bitters, as it isn't as sweet as the commerical stuff. You like G&T, you will like this Mauby.

Order a load, get your Banks, sit and eat and watch the suckers go to the KFC across the street and the ZRs beeping their hearts out. Cheap eats, tasty, authentic and totally wonderful.

“All batter, no fish!”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

Where's the fish??!!! The breading was bland and starchy. Horrible fishcakes! The only heat was from the pepper in the batter, they were barely room temperature. Not worth the money at all.....
