This very nice property is in a not very good location, on a very busy small road (coast highway) which can be tricky to cross with the speed of the traffic and blind bends in each direction, and sidewalks which vary from very narrow to uneven/broken or none at all with walls to the road's edge. For starters, the very nice lobby has its entracnce at the back of the building (quite strange). The swimming pool is a joke as it is really a single lane lap pool at 3' x 30'. The beach directly in front (with awkward access especially crossing that busy road) is not the greatest especially with a rocky bottom ... one needs to go a distance over in front of Coconut Grove hotel to get a narrow all sandy entrance to the water. No beach facilities of any kind provided. The rooms are excellent, roomy and nicely designed. The HDTV has no HD feed and the channel selection is barely passable at 20 channels (1 spanish movie channel "HBO plus" but at least films are in their original language).

I was on the 3rd floor out of 4 storeys facing the ocean ... no view at all. I don't think the 4th floor can see much either. Staff were all excellent. In addition to the lobby bar and usual Courtyard breakfast restaurant, TGIF and a local bar are directly beside the hotel without having to cross the busy street.

The sadest incident was when I went out for a walk in the evening and 1/2 km. down the street on the busy coast road a gun fight broke out with 10 to 12 shots fired; the locals and everyone in the area paniced of course, ending with the perpetrators racing away in their cars. The was very stressful and upsettin that people on this idyllic island feel a need to resort to using guns. Very sad indeed but unfortunately also raises some concern about safety in the general area after dark.

If you don't have a car or transport provided, I would definitely stay elsewhere with much better location and beach access.

This place is completed amazing. I know it is not on the beach but it makes up for that in many other ways. The rooms are brand new. The service is incredible. They make you feel at home. I
would return here without a doubt. The beach is across the street plus you have the board walk.

Good location right across the street from the ocean. Same setting like the other courtyards, clean rooms, fast internet access, decent restaurant, good service. Not recommended as a vacation hotel though.

I had to work for 4 days in Bridgetown and noticed that there is now a Courtyard here. Book a room and arrived around 3PM at the hotel. Checking in was a bit slow only because it looked like 1/3 of my AA flight also booked here. The good news checking in was an upgrade to an ocean view room. The Lobby is very big, lots of room to sit and chat, have a beer and enjoy breakfast. The lobby also has 2 PC stations for printing out boarding passes. Also free WiFi throughout the property is a big plus. The beach for the hotel is across the street. The room was very nice and clean. The amenities in the room were typical Courtyard, coffee maker, refrigerator, iron and ironing board, alarm clock and lots of storage space. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. I had breakfast every morning here (not included with the rate) and it was pretty good, especially the omelets. Since I was here for business never did check out the pool area. The exercise room was adequate and most the equipment was new.
If I have to come back to Barbados, I would definitely stay here again, whether for business or pleasure.

We - a group of three couples - stayed at this hotel for one night only while awaiting flight layover the next day for holidays in Mustique. At that time we booked for another night 7-days later upon our return. The front desk staff checked and indicated space was indeed available. We were provided paper with forms to complete to secure our reservation. Each couple completed a form with our credit card information, contact information including cell phone, email, etc. Three forms were completed and handed back to the staff at check-out

We arrived back May 20 and upon arrival at the hotel we discovered we had no reservations. This is where the service issue began. After several minutes of debate were it was suggested by the staff several times that we might not have actually booked, it was conceded that apparently the information from the paper forms was never logged into the system. It is evident that the front desk staff were insufficiently trained to handle such a situation for they only stated that there would be an "investigation", but never offered a sincere effort to assist us or mitigate the issue in any manner whatsoever. We were directed to use their lounge computer to locate another hotel, and only after complaining that they should be undertaking this effort, did they start making calls.

To add insult to injury, when one of our party indicated she was posting negative comments on-line, security staff were called. At no time did any of us raise our voices or cause a commotion that would have justified a call to security. We were polite and respectful at all times, even following the embarrassment of this act.

We did book another hotel on-line and asked if Marriott would comp our taxi fare of $20 US. The request was declined. As we climbed into the taxi under the watch of security, the person from the front desk was writing down the taxi plate number.

I am a Marriott rewards member and often choose to stay at Marriott when travelling abroad as typically the service and accommodations are generally very good. I can only assume and hope that the staff at this location on that day were not trained to Marriott standards. What was surprising was that we were advised by staff that they had spoken to their manager (who did not appear), suggesting that the lack of customer service skills extended up the chain of command.

To be fair, our stay here at the first layover leg of our trip was enjoyable. Clean rooms, attentive wait staff, great pool, good food. In retrospect we should have insisted on receiving a reservation confirmation number. A painful lesson for us, and I hope hotel management learn from this as well and improve their on-site reservation process.

We stayed here just for a couple of nights in February before our apartment was available. A bit nervous about the quality of hotels in Barbados so booked the Marriott to guarantee the standard. It was fairly expensive but I would recommend it. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were a sufficient size for a couple of nights, not big enough for longer as we had our 2 teenage boys sharing with us. The room was clean and well equipped. Nice location and within walking distance of the beach and a shopping centre with places to eat and a supermarket.

The lobby was impressive, with huge seating areas with tvs and computer area, all at no extra charge. Wifi was free too.

The only downside was breakfast. We had 2 free breakfasts but you only had the choice of 2 items from the hot menu and it was quite expensive so not much choice.

It had a very narrow pool which was a bit strange but nice to have a dip to cool down. You could swim lengths if you were the only person in the pool which thankfully I was.

A beautifully kept hotel which I would recommend.

I've stayed at this hotel 3 times during flight layovers in the past 9 months. Each experience has been very positive. It takes about 15 minutes and to get here from the airport - taxi cost $20 US. The good experience begins as soon one walks up to the check in desk; the desk staff is very warm and friendly and will make you feel special (they do this to everyone, I have observed) - especially nice when arriving very late at night. Likewise, ALL staff is just as friendly, this is so rare that it is noticable. The rooms are spacy and are impeccably clean, the sheets on the bed crisp and tight and obviously clean... nice large flat screen TV with plenty of channel selections. Coffee is available in the lobby beginning at 4am each morning... breakfast is open at 630a and is good. TGI Fridays is located just across the parking lot... a good place to eat even if arriving a bit late in the evening. --- I'll be back here again!

Room Tip: All rooms in this hotel are clean and comfortable
