The food was ok, but it was definitely overpriced. We ordered a la carte; no buffet that night. Do not order drinks; they were mediocre at best.

Brown Sugar has to be one of the best restaurants on the island. We were on holiday, and as my mother-in-law was out there visiting relatives, and it just happened to be Mothers Day (back in England anyway!) we took her and her sisters to Brown Sugar. Of course it was a Sunday so we got to sample the famous Sunday Buffet.

My goodness, there was loads of food, everything you could think of....flying fish fried or steamed, rice 'n peas, macaroni pie, snapper, chicken, pork chops, vegetables, meat stew and it went on and on. And as it was a buffet, you could just keep going back if you wanted to...and all for a very reasonable price.

The restaurant is quite large, but it is a good idea to ring and make a reservation to avoid disappointment, although I don't think the Green Monkey that was watching us eat our meal had to book!!!!!!

All in all, a wonderful experience, and you can walk it off on the nearby beach. What more could you ask for?

Nothing special. Food was terrible. Service OK. Not worth the hype. I had better local cuisine for half the price.

We always have a dinner at Brown Sugar when on Barbados. The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is really good and the staff is very nice. Walking distance to hotels is area.

Granted, the restaurant itself is lovely. Miniature waterfalls and plants pervade the interior ad it's rather beautiful. The service is extremely good, very polite waitresses. But the buffet, which they are famed for, costs about £28 for which you have a fair selection of local and international cuisine, but nothing particularly impressive.

It's also a wonderful spot that caters to locals and tourist which is nice. Good quality food, yes it is fair. Value for money, it certainly is not....
