The cocktail tour was brilliant! Don't want to give too much away because it's better if you don't know what's involved. Though will tell you that it's a fair bit of rum. Ryan was a great host, entertaining and funny. Highly recommend this (even if Rum isn't your favourite drinks ;-)

Thanks so much for an excellent afternoon (we even made Oistins that evening - just..)

If you love rum...you MUST include this on your trip. After all, Mt. Gay is the "rum that invented rum." The tour is nice (but you will not see the actual distillation; that is at another facility). Buffet lunch and rum tasting are both enjoyable.

Even though I rarely drink rum and then, only Malibu rum, my husband and friends really enjoyed the factory tour. It was interesting to see how the rum is made and all the flavours available at the store.
The best part is the beach. You have to pay for the chairs, which is common throughout the islands but the water is calm, sandy and close to the factory...very warm. It is the spot that the wintering race horses are exercised in the water. That was very cool to see.
We have been back a few times just to take in the beach and have lunch there. We plan on returning in 2014.

We went on our own and did the factory tour. On the tour you don't get to see much into the production since most of the actually rum production is done elsewhere on the island but you can see them bottling the rum, watch a video on the haute it which was interesting then sample some rum. There is a gift store there And they sell the rum for cheaper than duty free it was a fun hour.

We had fun, learned a lot and of course the rum tasting was great. So glad we had the buffet lunch as it was needed after the rum punch when we arrived which were followed by the rum tasting.
