We found the synagogue and museum almost by accident and were the only 2 people there. The museum and bath house are excellent, well presented and well worth a visit

This site is interesting what ever religion you practice and worth a visit while in Bridgetown.
Interesting building and the small cemetery has interesting grave stones

The synagogue is the oldest one in the Western Hemisphere.
I would highly recommend including it in your tour. The museum is outstanding. It should not be missed.

Regardless the inaccurate information supplied by a P&O cruise ship, regarding opening days, we explored the back streets of Bridgetown and discovered that the Synagogue was in fact open! We were treated to an almost individual visit and tour of the exhibition and Synagogue by Celso (?), a delightful and entertaining local. The exhibition is modern and informative, contrasting the Synagogue itself, being the oldest I believe in the Western Hemisphere!
It is in the middle of town and to downgrade this attraction because of the cost of a taxi ride is ridiculous.
If more people visited this wonderful wee place, they could possibly afford to publicise and open on a more regular basis.
Oh, PnO (!), for your information, Synagogues generally shut on a Saturday for public visits!!

This is the oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere. It has amazing stories and amazingly, it's still active. Services are on Fridays from 7-9pm.
Well kept and maintained.
