“Kings Beach Villas, Martin Richards”
Reviewed March 8, 2012

We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, villa on the pool in this fantastic little "holiday village" of about 30 apartments. The place is IMMACULATE and very well run. That word is often over-used but in this instance it is a fair reflection of the standards you will find when you get there.

Security is spot on and my wife and I felt very comfortable with our 6 year old twin boys. The pool is at the centre of the village and only a few of the villas are holiday rentals so the result is the venue was quiet night and day. Fully air conditioned, masses of storage space, great kitchen, terrace over looking the pool, beautiful gardens and wildlife, including the occasional monkey (seriously!). Martin is on site most of the time. He is English, has lived in Barbados for years and knows it like the back of his hand so can recommend all the good places to go eat and see.

Little shop in the garage 250 meters away sells all the essentials needed for casual self-catering and Supermarket is a mile away to the North in Speightstown. Intimate little pool bar serves whatever drinks you want pretty much when you need them. If you want a casual lunch you can wander 200m to Bombas and get a fantastic alfresco lunch, cooked local style and great VFM.

We rented a car because we know the island well and this worked really well. There is plenty of parking at Kings Beach Villas and it's location about 300m north of Mullins Beach was great for access to all the Big Name restaurants on the West Coast. Because of it's location at the North end of the West Coast, it's easy to get onto the main highway and bypass the often busy coast road and get into Bridgetown or Miami Beach in the South of the Island.

We like this place so much we are already booking our return trip.
