“Worth the money, but expect a little bit of a crowd.”

$15 bucks gets you entrance to the beach, chairs, umbrellas, a free drink of choice, and a taxi ride back home. The beach is gorgeous, although it was crowded. We got there at 11 a.m. and we couldn't find ANY chairs. Luckily the men trying to sell you jetskis, banana boat rides etc, are all trying to help out as many people as possible and quickly found all 6 of us chairs and moved them and set them up for us! We did decide to rent jetski's and it was a blast. We were able to ride two people on one jet ski for 30 minutes for $40. We had a lot of fun. The bar drinks were good, but SOOOO PACKED AND SLOW. However I am not complaining because I think there were so many people at the bar that the beach didn't seem as packed. They had water trampolines, rope swings, etc.

“Party!”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

Spent almost the whole day at Boatyard in Barbados. This is a party spot, do not be fooled into thinking its not. Free shots were given at the bar. Lots of drinking, volleyball, rope swing, trampoline, etc. However I would not say that if your not a party person you will not like this beach, but don't expect a quite place with ages 50+.

Couple things I noticed that need to be pointed out.
1. This is not a simple $12 per person for the day as most reviews state. The cab ride is $4 a person to get to the boatyard. To get into the boatyard if you are on a cruise it costs $15 a person (not 12). The "free drink" is basically juice with a splash of rum. Its more like $30 a person once you get a decent drink and some food.

2. There are venders everywhere. The are told not to come onto the Boatyard property but they still do. Expect about every 30 minutes someone with a bag, a jet ski, or a monkey to walk up to you. The guy on the mic will tell them to leave but they rarely listen. If you go on a beach stroll be expected to get surround by the venders.

Overall we had a lot of fun and a great day. The beach is very clear and the rope swing is a lot of fun. However look out for the hidden costs.

“Great place to people watch and have some drinks”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

We were staying in Barbados and the Boatyard was suggested by another person staying in the Gap like we were...he said The Boatyard was a great place to people watch (the cruisers and cruise ship staff on break) and have a few drinks. We paid the entry fee which is different for cruisers and were thoroughly entertained for the afternoon!! Cruise ship youth certainly get their fill of sweet and cheap liquor and people like us sit in the bar area and laugh the day away. The owner who also serves as chief security, runs a very orderly establishment and keeps the unruly in line..I don't blame him...it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt by their drunken stupidity!! Food was pretty good and bar service excellent. The beach was packed so we didn't venture but we did stay for several hours enjoying the party atmosphere.

“Over priced”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

We went to the Boatyard for the day from our cruise ship the price has gone up $3 from last year and the rum punch was not very nice. You can use the beach further along for a lot less money.I would not go there again well over priced for what you get.
