“Beautiful spot to chill out but wish more of the grounds were open to the public...”

Stopped at the Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary in Christ Church on our last trip to Barbados. The grounds are breathtaking. Admission is technically free, you only need to buy something from the cafe to gain entry. They sell everything from coffee to ice cream so they trip needn't cost and arm and leg. So we had an afternoon snack, tood some great pictures and fed the fish (they are huge and this is great fun for kids). Big disappointment was that the owner's have apparently decided to close of most of the nature reserve from the public. We suspect a few rabble rousers spoiled it for the rest of us. Hopefully they'll change their minds and fully re-open this attraction in the near future.

“Breathtaking views of nature in the city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2011

I just happened to pass by and saw the sign that the cafe was open and what a wonderful surprise it was to behold a very beautiful place in a concrete jungle. Google maps have aerial views of the sanctuary but I will post some of my own pictures.

The only thing however is that you have to patronize the cafe in order to explore the grounds. Some areas of the sanctuary are now restricted, but the little of what I saw as enough for me to have a lunch in a really beautiful environment and feel totally at one with nature.

This is a must visit for nature lovers. Sites and sounds are amazing.
