“OK/good food, consistently the slowest service on Earth.”

Given the relatively few dining options in the vicinity of the Fairmont, we ate at Wickets a number of times. We ate with our two small children each visit.

The staff is very friendly and very nice to children. The food is fine. It's all hamburgers, but they do have turkey burgers and vegetarian options.

The main issue is the service is just incredibly, incredibly, consistently slow. Typically 10-15 minutes between being seated and being greeted by your waiter for drink orders. Over and over on multiple days we saw guests getting up and leaving before their waiter made it to the table. We left one day as well. Again just an incredibly long time between placing your order and getting your food.

Kids under five eat free, although you do have to request they honor their policy.

We ate at Wickets in 2012 and loved the menu so much we ate almost all our meals there without needing to have the same thing twice. Sadly, the menu has changed and is now just a selection of mediocre burgers. They try to jazz it up by claiming it is a burger bar and giving the illusion of several choices, but in reality the selection is no better than the average chain restaurant's burger list. The restaurant is no longer open in the evening which means there are now no casual dining options at the hotel. Hopefully the management will notice all the empty tables (compared to queues out the door last year) and convert it back to a restaurant.

Great buffet. Kids loved it. They have it all. Fruit,cereals,oatmeal,egg/omelet station, pancakes, pastries etc... On weekends it's a larger buffett and on Sundays they also have a Bermudian buffett which is more brunch then breakfast. But its expensive if you have it every day, $30.00 per adult, $15.00 per child. However that does include taxes and tips so really it's fair, it just adds up especially for a family. Consider the a la cart menu if you're not a big eater or if you plan to stop for lunch. We eat breakfast late on vacation (10:00am) so having the Buffett no one was hungry for lunch, just stopped for afternoon coffee and a small snack. Than had a great dinner.

There only two choices for breakfast at the Fairmont Southampton. This is one of them with the full breakfast coming in at $31. This included juices and tea or coffee. The breakfast buffet had an omelette station, smoked salmon, cereals with milk, variety of breads, pork sausages, bacon, potatoes, scrambled eggs and eggs Benedict. There wasn't an enormous variety but little bit of everything.

It was breakfast. It wasn't anything amazingly special. It was enough for us to get on with our day and make it work for both breakfast and lunch.

I think it goes without saying that the prices for food here are expensive and this is no exception to that rule. It made us want to take a look at our options for breakfast outside of the resort just to see what the locals do. I wouldn't suggest that you include this as part of your vacation package as you may not want to eat here every day.

A good spot for morning breakfast and casual fare. I'm sure it's even nicer in high season with warm weather when you can exit out by the pool area or even dine open air by the pool.
