Owner description: The oldest cast iron lighthouse in the world provides breathtaking views of the Bermuda shoreline.
Reviewed May 18, 2010

My mom and I had a little extra time on Bermuda recently and decided to stop by this lighthouse even though it wasn't on our original itinerary. We're so glad we did! Even though it was a bit overcast the morning we visited, the views were still beautiful; the colorful houses especially popped out against the steely sky. The lighthouse also has well done, informative exhibits about the history of the lighthouse, shipwrecks in Bermuda, and other related topics. It was definitely worth the cost of admission (only $2.50).

On a clear day, you get a terrific view of the entire island from the lighthouse. It's 185 steps to the top, but there are informative displays every 20 steps or so if you wanted to break up your climb.

It's a quick stop, but a great view and just $2.50 to climb to the top - worth it since it goes to preserving the site.

Quite a varied menu, some unique combinations and great food. The service was a little too rushed and the acoustics make for a noisy dinner. Overall though, a very enjoyable meal with good food at a reasonable price for Bermuda and it was very busy.....it was Wednesday. Suggest you make reservations at all times. And of course the view is spectacular even in the rain.

The lighthouse offers a great view from the top, very pretty aerial view.
Easy to get to on public transportation and worth the stop in my opinion while on the way to the beaches, Hamilton, or Dockyard, etc. (#7 bus drops you off basically at the end of lighthouse road and i believe the sign said it was 0.4km up the road (about 10 minute walk). I think the #8 bus also goes by there on the other end of the road).

Definitely worth the $2.50 and the 180+ steps to the top. Views are amazing in all directions. We did this toward the end of the day and it was great to see where we'd been all over the island. There's a place to stop every 20 or so steps so it's easy for those who aren't in the best of shape. As mentioned before, gift shop is reasonable and restrooms clean.
