We had an enjoyable easy walk from the Fairmont Southampton to the lighthouse for breakfast - the salmon and scrambled eggs with toast were delicious. Then we took pictures from the patio of the beautiful island and bay.

Stayed at a vacation home rental in close proximity to GHL for a week. Loved the easy walk up for the nice views of the island in different weather conditions. Bermuda is really beautiful with its pastel coloured homes and bright white lime wash stepped roofs. From Gibb's Hill Lighthouse, you look down on it all. On a really nice day, you can see forever, as they say.

The gift shop is truly quaint with some souvenirs from the 1960's and 70"s but, hey, this is Bermuda, itself caught in a time warp.

The dining room looked tiny but interesting and quaint.

As you climb the lighthouse tower, there are a number of intermediate stations to stop, catch your breath and become engrossed in Bermuda's early history, including how the British stamped out its pirate DNA. Tickets cost $2.50, a price from the past.

amazing view, but WINDY up there, 183 steps up and down, so you do get a good workout. but inexpensive and worth the price

We took the walk from Fairmont Southampton via the Railway Trail just before Middle Road. It's a steep climb up the hill through a trail with a canopy of trees and then steps leading up to the base of the lighthouse. Admission for climbing the world's oldest cast iron lighthouse is a relative bargain at $2.50 in Bermuda. If you enjoy maritime history and a panoranmic view, this place is a must see. The gift shop was small but we found some nice souvenirs at bargin prices.

We walked from Fairmont Southampton, only took about 20 mins from the bottom of the hill where we got of the shuttle, turn left, you will see the signs. Nothing was open up there so take a drink. It was dec 27th.
