Owner description: The oldest cast iron lighthouse in the world provides breathtaking views of the Bermuda shoreline.

We went to Gibbs Hill Lighthouse on the recommendation of a native and were not disappointed. Service was great, the food was excellent. When we called for reservations, we were told they could accommodate us only at 6 ot 9 - we chose 6 so we could see the view. When we arrived, there was NO ONE there. In fact, people didn't start arriving until 7. We ate inside, due to the extreme heat and the sun shining on the outsides tables - had we had reservations a little later (like we wanted) we would have been able to sit outside, which would have been much nicer. But we still enjoyed our evening. There were no empty tables by the time we left.

One would come here for the experience. They had a nice wine list. Our group thought the food was ok. I had a homemade pizza. I had a mozzarella salad. The dessert was great.

The meal was very good. Nice mix of meat, seafood, pasta. We could have sat outside but it was humid so chose inside with a (small) window view. I had seen an appetizer salad on their website menu that wasn't on the menu that night so kitchen made what I wanted.

Gibb's Hill lighthouse is easily accessible being in the middle of the Island. It has a unique history and this is described on the various floors as you go up the 150 or so steps to get to the top.

Well worth a visit unless you are scared of heights!

If you love lighthouses and like to climb steps, this is a must; beautiful old historic lighthouse, with a very small fee to climb the almost 100 plus steps to a beautiful view.
There is also a small shop in the adjoining building, to buy sournevers and postcards
