Just returned from a five night trip to Coco Reef Bermuda. I have traveled to many spots in the Carribean, Mexico and Europe. What a place this is. It is a quiet restful retreat. My two sisters and I shared a room and found it to be very comfortable. There was plenty of space to hang clothes and lots of dresser drawers. We weren't in the room much so I can only comment that it was comfortable for sleeping and hanging out after dinner. The location is perfect. It is steps from a pristine beach water temps were in the low to mid 70's but it felt very comfortable. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. Short walk (5 minutes) to grocery and buses that run all over the island. It was very quiet when we were there but we didn't mind it at all. The views are beautiful from the rooms, it is a great place to relax. The pool was very attractive and the water was clean and at a nice temp. We snorkeled at Tobacco bay which I highly recommend. We also took the "pink" line ferry cruise around Hamilton harbor one evening to see the sunset, it was really beautiful. St. George is great for historical perspective, the Dockyard is fun for some shopping. Highly recommend the hotel.

beautiful setting yards from private beach Sea the most beautiful colours. In early may water freezing cold. Sun very strong but air temp just right. Hotel the villa style we had well furnished easy access to beach. Hotel itself very very quiet hardly saw a soul even in the bar. Absolutely no entertainment at all apparently not even in the high season. Restaurant probably about the same as anywhere else ..espensive but thats the price for a wonderful island Bought a few things for several days breakfast from local supermarket. Cost of living more than UKI by far Few minutes 10 approx up hill walk along a quiet road to the bus stop, but they were easy to use suggest buying tokens which can be used on the ferries as well. Beautiful island everything so clean and tidy and colourful. Wonderful. Staff at hotel helpful groundsman cut up coconut that fell off the tree oustide out room.

We just returned from a wonderful vacation at the Coco Reef and would like to recommend this hotel to all. The setting is perfect, right on the beach, and the rooms, while not trendy, are just fine and quite pretty. The public areas are quite lovely. The staff was very accomodating, and Lyle, the general manager was around every day to see to it that his guests were happy. All minor issues were dealt with quickly by the staff, and Vladimir at the front desk was quite helpful. Our only complaint was the air conditioner cycling on and off too frequently, which was a bit annoying.

Whilst the hotel is somewhat tired, the position on the beach, the service from the staff and the friendly nature of all there more than compensates for any shortcomings. The hotel manager is not one that hibernates but has a genuine desire to meet everyone resident and help in any way possible. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff in the hotel and would not hesitate in returning. Our thanks to all concerned for making the stay memorable.

My wife and I had the pleasure of recently spending four nights at CoCo Reef (May 12 through the 15th) . We were the “refugees” from the 9 Beaches Resort, which had apparently decided to delay their opening and in doing so unexpectedly canceled our reservations. Coco Reef was recommended to us as an alternative by our travel agent. As it turned out, 9 Beaches did us an immense favor in canceling us. My then fiancée, now wife and I absolutely loved Coco Reef. The staff there was extremely friendly and attentive. Both Vladimir and the young lady who worked the front desk couldn’t have been more helpful. Matilda and I enjoyed our daily breakfasts in the resort’s restaurant and have nothing but praise for the wait staff as well. The facility is absolutely beautiful, both inside and out, to say nothing of the expansive beautiful beach and reefs! Matilda and I were married at Stonehole Beach on the 14th. Coco Reef had complimentary “honeymooner’s” Champaign waiting for us in our room on arrival which was a wonderful way to start our stay. When we revisit Bermuda next time,….and there will be a next time, 9 Beaches will not even be a consideration……you’ll find us back at Coco Reef.

If you want an upscale, fancy hotel with beautiful decor and amazing service, you might want to stay somewhere else. If you are looking for a comfortable, clean room (albeit an older hotel) with an incredible view that is literally steps from the ocean and one of the larger private beaches, then stay at Coco Reef. My mother and I spent 3 nights here in February, when the weather was in the high 50s to mid 60's. Too cold to swim, but fun to sight-see. We got a good deal on the price of the room, so it was a fun long weekend getaway. The setting of the hotel is very pretty. The room seemed quiet, but be warned that the walls are thin. We only saw a few other people staying there, but we could hear the people in the room above us having a conversation! Bermuda is definitely easy to get to on a 2 hour direct flight from Atlanta and you definitely feel like you are in a different country! The difficulty about Bermuda is that you can't rent a car. Taxis are very expensive. The bus passes are cheap but using the buses takes a lot of time and are used by locals too, so are likely to be very full in the high season. Although the island is only 20 miles from end to end, it would take hours to navigate the windy roads to get from one side to the other on a bus or even a taxi. That is why Coco Reef, located in Paget, about the middle of the island and close to Hamilton, is such a good place to stay. It's got it's own beach, but is still only a 15 min. bus ride to Horseshoe Beach which is just gorgeous. (Horseshoe has public bathrooms and snack bar too, but it will be a 15 min. walk down hill from the bus stop...think uphill on the way back....and might be hard for kids after a long day at the beach). When you compare prices of purportedly fancier hotels and then locations (i.e., Cambridge Beachs? Even locals asked us, "Somerset? Why do you want to go to Somerset?" because it is in a very remote area where there is little to do but relax). If you have only a short time to visit Bermuda, stay closer to Hamilton.

First I'd like to say that the employees at the Coco Reef were super. Mr. Kenneth has the best smile and demeaner that I would look forward to seeing him around the grounds. The hotel was average. It did have a beautiful view of the ocean. The room was somewhat small. We had a king size bed that was really 2 twins put together, so in the morning we would wind up with the beds kind of lopsided tipping over the side. There was a constant leak of water coming from the second floor in several places in the room. I mean I've heard of condensation but this was quite not. We asked for extra towels, not for ourselves but for the floor as the floors are ceramic and quite slippery when wet. The bathtub was slow in draining the first day but by the 4th it was clogged and unfortunately it was the weekend and couldn't get it fixed. At night on several days the front desk was not answering the phone. Dont know why this happened.

The free wifi is only in the lobby area. You will not get service in your room.

If you are doing the bus, take note that the bus stop is a about a 1/4 mile away from the hotel and its uphill 1/2 of the way. Make sure u say good morning to the bus driver because they look at you nasty if you don't. And if you will be sightseeing alot the full day pass $12 dollars is the best cause you can ride the ferries included with the pass the whole day.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF DEVIANT CAB DRIVERS. We had this one driver who took us to the hotel and the fare was $10, HE DIDNT TURN OFF THE METER! Make sure they turn off their meter. By the time we got out our money and tip, the fare was up to $12. We paid it because we didnt know better. When we discussed this with the hotel desk, they told us the taxis are not supposed to do that. SO BEWARE! One Cabby put the meter on before we even entered the cab! THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT EITHER. Only until you get into the Cab and they commence to drive off are they supposed to put on the meter. OH, when I asked the cabby why the fare went from 10 to 12, he stated that we were in the cab too long! The nerve of him. Were we supposed to jump out and run out of the cab and not pay him? Well, hopefully this review will save some tourist as a guide.

Expect to pay 2x more of anything you purchase in the US. Your $1 water bottle, in the states, is anywhere from 2.50 to $3.oo. I used this as a guide and it didn't hurt that much, hehe.

Overall, the Coco Reef is somewhere I would stay again. Thank you Coco Reef for a great stay and I hope I get to see Mr. Kenneth again.
